For the skill points challenge, once you have racked up a score, check it on the Forzathon screen and then force a game save by Fast Travelling to the Festival or your home. It worked fine for me too.
Oh and by running up 1mill+ skill chains you are missing out on a lot of skill points as the maximum is 10 at a time (500,000). Just stop and bank them once you reach 500,000 (72k with a x7 multiplyer or only 50k if a skill song is playing). Then you can max out your car's skill tree and then bank them even quicker.

One one occasion I checked the screen, had 2m of points, racked up 1m chain, checked the screen again and the 2m had gone already...

There is lots. You can pretty easily ignore the bullst though and just drive. It’s not integral to anything really.

I’m ignoring as much as I can and just enjoying hooning about on completely unrealistic roads in cars that handle as if they are on rails. Yesterday I accidentally entered an autumn rally event in my Dodge Charger - handled as if it was a 4WD rally beast.

Looks superb. No idea how I’m meant to save the game though, I just exit and hope for the best.

I’ve got FM7 for real racing.

So I can confirm that the garage limit is 550. It won't let you do any Wheelspins until you remove space for potential cars so.

Never understood garage limits, surely in a game like this you should be able to own every car. GT1-4 are probably the exceptions as they had like 10,000 different cars. 250 of them being every type of MX5

I’ve never had a problem connecting or finding matches. Usually pretty instant. I’m on Xbox.

It is crossplay, but there will be differences in the networking code for the different platforms.

This is what I’m doing. Just driving and doing races. No idea what’s going on otherwise

Is there now way, or mode, that I can pick the season myself? I don’t like the winter stuff

Not sure if this will apply to PC, but my understanding is that the Xbox matchmaking goes weird and will struggle to find other players if your NAT is set to strict. Might be something to look at?

I would dearly like a Crown Vic in my garage, but apparently (according to something I read on, er, Reddit) the only time they come up is via the infernal in-game bandit machine. Despite that I've been keeping an eye on the auction house, but there's never any available despite it being a filterable option. Boo.

Try as I might I can't find any mug to buy the second bloody Morris minor I've had from a wheel spin. Can see me ending up throwing it away. I'm convinced the game has a sense of humour, it seems to choose cars I hate for wins. I've had pretty much every ford going and as for beetles/camper vans. I could start a hipster car dealership.

Has anyone managed to acquire a Black Cab? There's a slot for it in the auction house but I've never seen one there, as an AI racer, in the autoshow, wheelspin or any online match I've played.

According to the xbox app, NAT is open, connectivity is fine, 30ms latency, 0 packet loss.

Yet it takes forever to connect to a life session, and even longer to find a ranked match. Looking online it seems you get put into separate instances, and the ranked matchmaking taking forever is due to the instance you being in having few players.

I'd be interested how long it takes to get a ranked racing match, and whether you are on xbox or pc, if anyone can report back?

It might be a bit tin foil hat, but i'm playing on PC using the game pass version. It wouldn't surprise me if players like me were put in our own instance and dropped right to the bottom of the priority when it comes to online bandwidth. However the only way to test that is for me to pony up the £45 for the non game pass install, which i'm loath to do if the online is going to be this st.

edit to add: I don't think it is an issue on my end, as I can get into an unranked adventure immediately.
