Forza Horizon really doesn't seem to get on well with wheels in my experience, not worth the expense imo.

Both mine and a friend's experiences just seem riddled with ridiculous over steer. It's like it's programmed for binary controller inputs where even a slight turn over the wheel is interpreted as full lock.

There could well be settings to get around this but given all the off road driving you'll be doing, I just didn't find it fun with the wheel and instead it was a chore.

Shame as the motor sport series (imo as it seems to have a lot of critics) feels great.

What cars are people drifting?

I've bought a couple of the Hoonigan cars, but honestly prefer my F-Type. Strange as the F-Type has hardly any tune and just 45psi stuffed in the rear tyres!! It doesn't achieve the crazy angles of the drift spec cars but its so easy to drive and can get 2 stars in most drift zones - even with my limited skill.

The E46 M3 looks worth unlocking having watched a youtuber tune and drift one.

I managed to win a 1931 Bentley 8 Litre in a wheel spin on the weekend :-D

Unfortunately it doesn't drive as well as it looks. Is there any races it is useful for later in the game? or shall I sell it.

The best one I've found is the Formula Drift Viper, with a tune that I'll have to look up later but is helping me slowly 3 star the zones.

Did the Spring Forzathon stuff with the Corrado over the weekend. Yes the field of tree stumps and small trees outside one of the houses was very useful smile . Also got the money together for the house with the fast travel anywhere add on, it's also got 10 triple wheel spins, so I got about 800k back from the 2 million along with a few cars (and clothes, and horns).

What cars do you prefer sound wise? For me personally how the car sounds is a very very big point in me wanting to drive it.

Currently I'm driving the Carrera RS 2.7 a lot. Engine modded fully, without FI and the camshaft only to stage 1. It has 350hp and 400Nm of torque and the sound on full chat from 5500rpm onwards is just heavenly.

I had bought the 458 Speciale hoping for good sound but it just sounds...muted. Very disappointing.

So, which cars can you recommend for a good aural experience?
The oldest Dodge Viper is lovely, as is the DB11 ... I also quite like the 'Car Pass' Honda Civic race car with full mods, but don't change the engine!

I bought that house a few days ago and got £1.8 million back from the spins, so the house effectively cost me £200k – was chuffed to bits. Told my mate and he decided to do it and got £20k back so pretty much cost in the whole £2mil haha

(You still pay for each fast travel, depending on how many boards you've smashed)

Tonight's my 1 year anniversary with the missus.

Is there a way to play the game via mobile?

Technically you might be able to stream it to a Win 10 Tablet or Surface Pro over a VPN to your home network?
Just guessing.

I have a PS4 and an xbox. I play Dirt Rally, Assetto Corsa and GT Sport on the PS4 as I have a Thrustmaster t300rs wheel and its all good.

I'm loving the look of this game but would need to play it with my wheel so that means investing £300- £400 on a decent graphics card for my PC so I can play the game with all the pretty settings turned on.

Question is : would it be worth it? anybody on here play it on PC with a wheel? I'm not expecting Assetto Corsa levels of feedback but do you get some feedback through the wheel?

If its naff I could indulge in Assetto Corsa Competizione I suppose and get Wreckfest and others(Man Maths etc)
I'd be tempted to buy the Drive Hub wheel adaptor for £90 to enable you to use your PS4 wheel on the Xbox. It's £90, but a lot cheaper than upgrading your PC gpu to something good enough to run this game appreciably better than the Xbox.

I have just upgraded my PC graphics card, but I am only using FH4 on the Xbox One X so far. It looks so good on that it hardly seems worth bothering setting it up on the PC.
You sir are a legend, I'll look into that - this is why I love Pistonheads full of usefull info.

Anyone else feel the 3 lap races just aren't enough. I really enjoy the circuit racing element, learning a track and trying to get the lines just right. Plus if you make a mistake on a 3 lap race then there is no coming back from it realistically.

Starting to get into the habit of creating my own blueprints for the circuit racing and doing 8/10/15 etc laps, also get lots of money for it.

Id like something with hard barriers to be honest at least for a few races. Sick of being punted off and missing a checkpoint! Races are a destruction derby so much of the time for me. Being kicked off the circuit by a big car is annoying.

Hmmm I know what you mean, beginning of the races are always a bit of a free for all, but if you hold back or spot the right line you can get through more often than not. Thats the good thing about long races with more laps is it all spreads out a bit and you can actually tackle the other drivers one by one. Tempted to do some 20 lap+ races over the next few weeks, think max is 50 right? Just learning which the best circuits are. Quite like the Windfarm circuit at the moment it has a few very fast corners.
