I'm still surprised how far behind this game's AI is vs even a GTA game from a couple of generations back!
How would you know, you've not played it.ruprechtmonkeyboy said:
I don't need to. The overwhelming amount of negative reviews and vids confirm my thoughts plus CDPR also admitting it's not good enough. Perhaps you should tell them all they are wrong lol
Got to ask this - did you ever intend to play the game or have you only ever trolled on here ? I'd like to think you were interested, but since I joined this thread some time around July/August you've been nothing bu negative and with out any way to back up your statements, as with just before.dapprman said:

I would be too if I'd bought the game in the state it was released.

I'll be buying the current generation version of the game, if it reviews well.
I'd wait another 6 months or maybe even a year till they've got it running properly. Reviews on the latest patch aren't exactly good.https://www.indiewire.com/2021/04/cyberpunk-2077-f...

Your latter comment of waiting another 6 months may be a reasonable/good option if you're still nervous about the standard of the game (which you obviously are), not sure when the next big patch will come as I suspect DLC will be next.

Every game has visual bugs and glitches which don't effect the gameplay so, understandably, CDPR have decided to spend the last 3 patches on fixing "game breaking" bugs, whilst leaving the visual bugs alone for the time being.
So, if you want a visually perfect game with zero glitches - it'll never happen, ever.
If you want a stable game with some visual glitches - you could buy it now or you could wait.
If you want new content - wait for the DLC's in 6 months+
If you want the game to be how CDPR advertised it - You'll be waiting forever, it'll never be that game.
I'm about 210hrs in so far, done 4-5 run throughs, got a little burnt out etc so I'm waiting for the DLC's myself before playing it again.
I had zero idea what the game was before I bought it as I hadn't seen anything, not even a trailer, and it wasn't even my typical type of game (1st RPG game fore me) but I knew KR starred in it so I gave it a go. I've been lucky that my 4yo Laptop (7700HQ & GTX1070) has been able to run the game without a single crash so far which means I could do 8hr+ sessions whilst I was off work with a broken knee which definitely helped with the immersion into the world of CP2077 allowing some great emotional connections to be made, but I know others with far better PC specs (and console players especially) have had a nightmare getting it running.
I've still not finished my first play-through, but I'm maybe 40-50h in so far.
1.2 patch has definitely improved things for me, got rid of a bad visual bug (all the trees within the view distance being shown in front of all objects) and generally tweaked everything to make it easier. It's still full of odd bugs, occasionally get NPCs doing weird things, some of the side-missions have weird triggers built in which shouldn't be.
All that said, so far I'm absolutely and completely in love with it - for me it's right up with STALKER and Mass Effect as my favourite sci-fi RPGs. The environment they've layered in, that dystopian horror of everything, the way they've layered in the appearances by Johnny Silverhand (and Keanu has done a great job I reckon), brilliant.
The only thing I'd like is improved performance - I'm on a Ryzen 3600 setup with a 1060GTX, and at 1200p resolution it's a bit choppy from time to time on middling settings. Not surprised the PS4/XB1 can't run it properly.

Well finished it and done most of the endings. To be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed. Night city looked epic, but very few of the buildings were actually enterable and most people you couldnt interact with apart from a hello. Cars and other vehicles handled unbvelievably badly almost to the point of frustration and as mentioned, the AI seemed very poor. There were the usual convoys of the same vehicles on the roads and sometimes all the pedestrians just dissappeared as you move further out the city centre.
I was expecting (hoping for) Witcher 3 levels of immersement, but it didnt really deliver that. The strory with Geralt and his interaction with others seemed far more complex and involved. Witcher took me almost a year to complete with lots of times playing at 3AM. I finished Cyberpunk in 3 months without much effort at all. I loved the concept and really wanted it to deliver, but I think it fell someway short of expectations. I think it could have offered a lot more complex interactions with the city and its inhabitants, but it just didnt happen, such a shame.
TL:DR Did I enjoy it? Yes.
Did it live up to the hype? No.

For those waiting for the next big patch plus DLC, version 1.3 is out today.
With GoG (PC) it is 33.67GB in size.
Looks like minimal additional stuff but a very large list of fixes - much of which is detailed on the official pages - quick page grab and dump in to Word shows over 650 lines before the PC and console specific section.

Was going to ask for an update on this. I got a refund from Sony for my PS5 copy, after I'd completed it. Felt a bit skeevy asking for a refund on a completed game, but at the same time it was a bag of nails in terms of promises vs reality.
It sounded like development had slowed significantly on this, so I was wondering what was actually happening with it? Seems like DLCs and meaningful changes are a long way off, and might possibly never happen (e.g. people yearning for more GTA-like realism, AI, etc)

Is this worth looking at on an Xbox series X yet - or is it still a shambles?
I've had a few hours on it on my Series X and it runs fine, looks good, unfortunately it just hasn't really grabbed me, I really wanted to give it a good go and didn't ask for a refund but just never find myself wanting to play it, think i'll chop it in at somepointAJB88 said:
I fired this up this morning on Stadia, trying to break into the Arasaka compund, reminded me how much I dont get on with this game at all, kept getting smashed by overheat and also running out of ammo.
Turned it off int he end and went on RDR2 instead.
