If you have Phantom Liberty then start diving in to water features in Dog Town as there is a X-MOD2 version which is even better wink

For those not yet seen, here's the comparison of the Chinook with Hawk (President Myer's gun) and the X-MOD2 variant.

Totally forgot about the body of water to get that X-MOD!

Here's my specced up load-out now, the claw X-MOD is absolutely lethal and teh finishers are nice to watch too.

Blimey, I installed the Luke Ross REAL VR mod today.

What a game changer, you do not appreciate how much detail is in they city until you do it in VR. Also didn't realise that all the NPCs eyes actually track you which is incredibly immersive.

Took some fiddling to get the visuals right, but blasting through traffic on a bike in first person is sodding amazing!

Phantom Liberty finished (King of Wands). Though it is still imperfect as a game - controls and driving both leave a bit to be desired, the characters and the story lines do make it worthwhile. I wonder what next for our protagonist(s).

I've bought this game and the DLC.

Is there a suggested order to play it in? Should I just go blind and do what I want, or is there a better way, maybe something the developers have said?

Asking here because I did some initial searches but it's tricky to do so while avoiding spoilers

I think the whole point of these is to be your own "V", play your own character, and choose or find your ending.

Some choices at the end of both the main game and Phantom Liberty were unthinkable to me.

The DLC doesn't activate until you finish set main quests first, you can see your progress when you select the Phantom Liberty "quest".

Go in blind and enjoy it, remember you can do anything off the quests list at any time if you see it, stopping a robbery, gang war stuff, you don't have to go and meet someone who says they are waiting to see you immediately (just deselect that mission to stop being distracted by it) you can wait ages to continue with that. Also you have a wait option in the inventory, so if you do want to meet someone between 11pm and 1am and it's 7am you can forward time.

The game warns you at points of no return so do your own thing and if you get to the point you can park it till your ready

Not quite, it's once you complete a key critical set of missions part way through the Judy path. Not sure if there is a minimum level.

Personally I would try and complete the Panam and River paths before the point of no return in PL as they do give you some options on a Dog Town side quest.

Thanks all. Looking forward to starting this soon once I've finished 1-2 games in the backlog first

I know the PC version is much improved and working well now - is it the same for the console versions? Thinking on upgrading one of my consoles, probably the Xbox to a Series X - and I’d finally like to give this a go if it’s decent now.

ETA alternatively if anyone has played this on the Steam Deck I’d be interested to know; that’s a possible option too.

I've got it on Xbox Series X and it's brilliant. Haven't really had any serious glitches the whole time (I did hold off buying it until they released the update for the Series X so not had it since day 1). Currently on my second playthrough with the Dogtown expansion, can't recommend it enough.

I'm actually trying to work out what type of character to do for a third PL run through when the next patch comes out (waiting in case there is new content).
First run through was my traditional net runner silent sniper build, which as warned by the PL/2.0 reviewers, was a hell of a lot harder. Not for the regular grunts but the main bosses. Both Hanson and Smasher seem to take next to no quick hack damage once you get them down to ~30% health (this was at normal level) while you remain a squishy meat sack.
Second run through was a high body (also ref and tech) shotgun build, using throwing weapons as my silent killer. Only catch on this one is I went the Songbird route.

Next run I'm probably going to take the Solomon Reed route again as I missed out on getting the blueprints during the Big mission (despite unlocking the door so I have no clue how I missed the Erebus plan as I'm sure I went in to the room)

Patch 2.11 now out.

Details here, though annoyingly they do not say if they have fixed Sonic Shock. Will test later as I did start a 3rd run through and went back to a hacking build, but this time with smart weapons for mid range (using Chesapeake and enjoying it) with thrown for silent (at present unless SS fixed).

Do you use a modded game, as in do all the Cyber Engine Tweaks, Redscript and other plugins need updating?

My game is on Epic so unlike Steam I can prevent updates until the mods are updated.

Oh FFS!

My install borked last night so I did the verify/repair thing in GOG, which re-downloaded the entire game - all 82.5 GB - and then it did it again... So, looking forward to a third complete download this evening! rofl

I have cyber engine tweaks but that is about it.

On Sonic shock - not fixed. Making a net hack run through rather 'interesting'.
