If we leave it long enough, Bethesda might pay us to play it. And frankly, right now they would need to. smile

His reviews are great when he gets hold of a bad game.

His Evolve review is enjoyable watching too

That's appalling!

"You have completely misrepresented what you are selling. How are you going to resolve this?"
"We're not. fk off".

Bethesda's official response regarding the cheap nylon replacement.

In other words you spend $200 on a collectors edition and don't get the canvas bag as promised because "it was too expensive" or "Due to unavailability of materials", in a limited edition run special pack so we'll give you $5 of free in game microtransfers. I think the Oxford Dictionary is going to be getting a new definition for the word 'clusterfk'.

In fairness, the cheap stty nylon bag instead of a decent canvas bag is consistent with the cheap stty game instead of a decent game. smile

I wonder how they are going to explain the general stness of the game? Maybe "it was too expensive" to make a decent game, and "due to the unavailability of sts to give" they are not going to fix it? evil

The situation is getting more and more bizarre. Bethesda really don't give a st.

Have they been taken over by EA?

I guess it proves that big companies can mess people around without a care in the world. I don't think they will suffer that much because of this. They'll bring out the next game and all will be forgotten.

76 looks awful. It reminds me of a bad PS2 game.

I think they intend to keep the same engine for the next Elder Scrolls game too.

The thing about Fallout is it has never really worked as a first person shooter. Single player with VATS has been ok. Throwing it out there as an FPS is just mad.

Well, considering that Fo4 was Fallout bludgeoned into the Skyrim engine, I'm guessing that ES6 will be ES bludgeoned into the Fo76 engine.

In case anyone didn't realise, the BoS Vertibirds were Skyrim dragons. It's also why you can have a baseball bat that magically freezes people or one that sets them on fire. Worked well in Skyrim with magical enchantments, worked terribly in the Fallout universe as it literally makes no sense.

I can totally get the concept of a special type of shotgun ammo that shoots fire, as DragonBreath rounds are a real thing in the real world, but not a magical shotgun that shoots fire.

It seems that the management of Bethesda look on all of us buyers of their products as 10 year olds.
As someone who has been playing Fallout and Oblivion from the dark ages I will, after this shambles be very reluctant to pre order any of their titles in the future.

Yet more, er, "fallout" from the Fallout bag thing:

"Ironically 500 Atoms won't even buy you the Fallout 76 postman skin that actually has a canvas bag (it costs 700)"

is this in the "so bad it's good" category?

when it drops sub £20 (about 2 weeks time at this rate) i might pick it up for a laugh.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother.

I don't own the game, but there is apparently no end to it. No point in playing it. Even people who have it are giving up on it, apparently.

Honestly I am actually glad that Bethesda are on the receiving end of a fairly epic consumer meltdown. For far to long they have been given free pass for things that other developers get hauled over the coals for.

If EA / Ubisoft release a terrible game, or one thats buggy - its wall to wall meme's, meta bombing, scathing reviews and outrage. Bethesda does the same and until FO76, everyone would just turn a blind eye.

It was pretty clear by FO4 that the rot had really set in. Outdated engine, crap graphics, riddled with game breaking bugs, terrible story, tedious gameplay and even the new features they added where half arsed.

They are one of the most cynical and lazy companies around. Any good favour that they had in the past has vanished. They have taken a big st on their fanbase and then when people have called them out on it, they just stick 2 fingers up.

Any hopes people have about Bethesda putting this right are ill placed. There are still game breaking bugs on FO4 that they simply havent bothered to fix 4 years on. FO76 will likely wither and die, the past has proven Bethesda cant be bothered to properly support their games,

This will have a big impact on sales for their next release whatever it is. Doesn't matter how much they try and market it, the The fact their their next 2 titles will be using the same engine is laughable. It's going to be a complete shambles.

Have you seen the vids of the announcement of 76? The lies that the head of Bethesda peddled? The stupid whooping and clapping of people in the audience?

Shambles. hehe

The only reason that Fallout 4 and Skyrim were so successful is that modders fixed all the bugs that Bethesda couldn't be bothered to fix, and added content that Bethesda couldn't be bothered to add.

Fo76 was always going to be in for a rocky ride as by their very nature online / multi-player games have to be locked down against modding otherwise cheats will abound. But in doing so you also prevent modders from fixing the defects and deficiencies too. And since Bethesda have shown time and again that they have no interest in addressing these issues, I don't see how Fo76 is going to improve.

I reckon we will look back on this game like we look at The Matrix 2 & 3, and MiB 2. ie. we'll quietly pretend they didn't happen. smile
