Well - yes
But I can't be the only person who enjoys a good old wallow in back in the day nostalgia? Playing games from when I was 14 or 15 makes me happy and isn't that the name of the game?
Yep, for all of a few hours then happiness turns to boredom, turns to PS4 again. Been there done it with retro (I used to own a ZX Spectrum 48k rubber keyboard thing!) and always the same outcome, bit of nostalgia, machine ends up in the corner gathering dust after a couple of goes and the nostalgia wears off.But I can't be the only person who enjoys a good old wallow in back in the day nostalgia? A bit later on than the PS1, but I remember looking at the grass in the original Halo and saying to someone 'that is identical to real life'
I stand by it
I miss the days of being in awe at graphics on a new game or next gen console and seeing the extra details they've put into things. Nowadays they don't really care.I stand by it
case in point. MGS2 and MGS3 had tons of detail, so many things you could shoot/interact with and destroy. like shooting fruit or shooting pans and the different sizes making different notes. MGSV? none of that.

retro games are best left as good memories.

Waste of money, first couple of hours you will go 'wow I remember this' then the following day its gathering dust
Spot on there. It's in the past and you can't go back. I'm not sure why everyone's getting so excited by this.
You've always been able to play most PS1 disc games on the PS2 and PS3 and (even the PSP with a bit of iso conversion).
It was always a bit more of a novelty with the NES and SNES as you either had the choice of finding a real console with cartridges or Virtual Console if you wanted to stay legit until the Minis were released.
PS1 games? Stacks of them at your local charity store gathering dust.
Now an N64 mini is going to blow this out of the water....

Disagree with that - some games certainly age like milk in the sun, but some remain as playable today as they ever were. I still love playing the likes of Super Mario World, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Doom
Nahhh. It's not about the games aging (or not, as the case may be), it's that you can't recreate the past no matter how hard you try. So I used to play The Elite for hours upon hours, same with Chuckie Egg and others. But that lot is from my distant childhood (35+ year) - and that's where they belong with my memories.

What's worrying is the omission of the other fifteen game titles from the launch information.
Yep. Add Wipeout 2097 and Gran Turismo 2 and it gets more tempting...

Got one pre-ordered, even though I have a PS3 which plays my PS1 games anyways and have a PS1 and an upscaler if I wanted to play that, it just interests me, will leave it downstairs with my NES and SNES classic to play on my living room TV and leave all my other main older consoles upstairs in my gaming room.
