Assassins Creed: Odyssey

Is origins as good?
I have played both extensively, and finished both more than once. For me, Origins is the better experience, it seems the developers put their heart and soul into this game. I do like Odyssey, but wherever you go in the game world, you realise the developers got lazy and ended up cutting and pasting a lot of assets in all areas. Also, when comparing a city like Alexandria in Origins to Athens in Greece, the former has a bustling feel about it, lived in with people going about their business. In contrast, Athens feels dead.
Even after playing through Origins twice, I have started again and am still in awe at the beauty and diversity of the many locations.

Collector's edition pre-ordered. No brainer for me - I enjoyed Origins and Oddysey immensely.

Actually you’re right. Odyssey is a very pretty game, but the only time I was really impressed was when I first saw the view from the top of Mount Taygetos. I can remember feeling impressed numerous times in Origins and the story felt a lot more immersive. Also, when comparing a city like Alexandria in Origins to Athens in Greece, the former has a bustling feel about it, lived in with people going about their business. Bought the DLC the other week when it was a half price, finished it and got 100% achievements now. DLC felt a bit repetitive but the settings and construction of Elysium, Underworld and Atlantis were pretty good. The DLC came with a copy of Assassins Creed 3 remastered which was a bonus.
Bit of a resurrection but it's £13 ish on PS Store at the moment, so I have taken the plunge.
I received Origins as a present knowing nothing about it, and thought it was absolutely brilliant, sunk many, many hours in to it.
After hearing Odyssey wasn't quite as polished I was put off, but as it's now been some years since Origins, winter is setting in, and it was £13, it was time to give it a go.
So far (20 hours ish) Odyssey doesn't have quite the strength of story at the start perhaps, and the controls / movement seems to have a few more 'quirks' or clunky moments on occasion, but it's still very enjoyable to play and explore the world.
The Mercenary / bounty system is a nice addition, and the RPG elements I feel are nicely judged.
Playing as Kassandra, some of the dialog choices can make the 'conversations' very disjointed, with either character's tone and apparent mood changing wildly depending on what you say, but ultimately, it's enjoyable, and for £13 a no brainer.
As has been mentioned, I don't quite get the sense of the same love being poured in to it as Origins, so go there first if you want to dip your toe, but if you enjoyed Origins and want more of the same, it's worth the discounted price easily.
