Ah living out in the stix eh! wink

Am at level 51 now...collected some decent items and working my way through the cultists and mythical creatures, I think I am way behind on the main quest though I have just gotten totally distracted with all the other stuff.

Latest update also lets you customise the look of the armour - so now making sure I use a few Epic pieces instead of legendary as they give an extra perk (but a little less armour). One piece has +30% armour perk which overcomes the shortfalls though. The always on fire damage perk for your weapons is a game changer, now in battles setting people on fire constantly totally swings the balance!

I thought it stopped at 50? I stopped playing once RDR2 came out.

Since the latest update you can now go up to 70 I think it is plus new mythical creatures etc will be coming along - I already took out the new cyclops and got the legendary bow.

I thought about buying RDR2 but made the decision to play through AC till the end, then buying RDR2 and playing that. Didn't see much point in stopping part way through, still so much to find and explore and story arcs to complete. I can get RDR2 and enjoy that in a few months hopefully with a price decrease also!

Just picked this up in the steam sale and really enjoying it so far.

I actually quite like the voice acting, at least they are using proper Greek people to do the accents.

graphically it is outstanding. I have been to the Oracle of Delphi and the layout matches what i remember, they have done an amazing job on the visuals.

Anyone else have trouble with the bl@@dy Boar? Couple of levels higher than it now and it still kicks my butt. Seems to go mega savage when you're on the cusp of killing it.
I reset my abilities and added the one which allows you to regenerate health as a combat action using a unit of adrenalin. That made a massive difference.

I think we all develop our own playing abilities but I have focused more on Warrior and Sword for combat.

Definitely get the health regeneration in as soon as you can, its an absolute priority. My offensive abilities I use are Sparta Kick (lure soldiers/mercenaries onto roof tops and kick them off for instant-death) also the stun damage ability which pushes soldiers away with damage and floors them for 5 seconds or so. The ranged assassins attack is a good ability to have, which allows you to throw the spear and sprint over and assassinate soldiers, then if you upgrade that ability you can chain this on to another soldier in range which in effect lets you take out up to 4 of them in one move.

Also, once on the Adestra make sure to go right over to the right hand side of the map - there is a small island with Poseidon on it which has a load of lions on it, the legendary chest there has Poseidons trident in it which when armed allows you to breathe underwater which makes all the diving quests much much easier!

I finished all three stories, I enjoyed the experience so much, I am now playing through the whole game again, but making sure to not make the same choices as before.

I did pay almost £100 for this game, but I think I have got my money's worth a few times over.

There is also the debate about Epic armour being better than legendary armour.

Legendary armour has better overall stats ie. higher armour ratings but legendary armour only comes with two perks, Epic comes with three. Obviously you can engrave both but you do get more perks with epic armour - some of the these perks are things such as +36% armour which overcomes the shortfall in stats for Epic armour. Legendary armour allows you more powerful engravings but you should do all the numbers to find out the best combo.

So dont just ditch the epic armour once you have legendary armour, consider how you might better suit up!

Do you tend to keep the same armour and upgrade, or switch around as you find/win/loot stuff?

If I get something with better perks then swap it out - I have ended up with helmet and greaves as epic parts and the rest legendary, the helmet has +36% armour +20% fire and +17% warrior with an engraving I vary. I generally use a sword with the fire engraving so its always on fire, so when in combat hitting the opposition they light up and they tend to run around shouting rather than attacking you!

Remember, key decisions like that will mean only certain outcomes are available at the end of the game wink

But agree, Kassandra is 'bad-ass'

Finally completed it (well 99% completion according to my stats, but no more quests to do), and this one has been my favourite AC game in a long time.

hehe

I let him live but will likely play again as Kassandra and kill him to see what differences it makes.

Its taken a back seat since Read Dead 2 came out though, but I will get back to it at some point.

Took all the willpower in the world not to stab the muppet!

I am slowly making my way through it, at level 58 now, only get a couple of hours here and there. Some general tips I would add for the beginner from someone who is moderately good at the game lol:

- Focus your perks, put in stuff which is focused on one of assassin, warrior or hunter - trying to spread the skills just means you are crap at all of them (jack of all trades master of none!)
- When selecting the horse at the start go for the fast one, its all you will ever use them for i.e. charging across the map because you do not have a viewpoint saved
- When on horse make a habit of just tapping triangle (on PS4) you find you will sweep up a lot of wood and rock as you go along that you wouldnt notice by eye
- Always try and knock out mercenaries rather than kill them for your ship, you still get their gear but the mercenaries have the legendary crew perks, just whack them with weapons until they are weakened then sparta kick them down
- When doing conquest battles on foot run around and find the captains and focus on them, its much harder to win if you do not get rid of these guys quickly
- When doing the conquest battles on the seas, best tactic I found is to approach the stragglers that are not in the main group and get close enough for them to engage you, turn around and head away so they follow so its one on one which of course you can take them out easily - engaging 3 or more ships is almost impossible to win at once
- On the ship remember you have your storage box behind the main bridge, you will end up with a tonne of legendary gear you cannot sell or breakdown and its a pain being in the gear lists so just drop it in there
- Get the health regeneration ability asap you will use it more than any other ability, sparta kick is good for knocking out opponents but also good for insta-kills kicking people off buildings/mountain sides. The stealth kill ability is also really good where you throw the spear and follow up, it allows you to quickly kill a number of targets who are difficult to approach i.e. stood out in the open
- Poseidons trident is on the very far right of the map on a small island about half way down the map, you just need to negotiate the lions, grab it and equip it to be able to breathe underwater, all underwater quests are now much much easier
- When raiding forts etc. they usually have wild animals in cages, a good start is to get yourself up onto a tower within bow range and fire at the cage door releasing the animal, all the guards will rush towards it leaving the fort relatively unguarded, also the animal if a bear or lion will generally kill one or two of the guards for you!

I can't see how I could ever play this game as the dude, her voice acting is just so good.

If it wasn't for her charachter I could see myself getting bored, but every interaction is just so good.

Plus she's a legitimate badass. Proper femshep vibes here.

That boar is a pisstake, I've came back 12 levels higher than teh first time but still not enough, the closest I've got so far is when a mercenary followed me there and I kept running at him to get the boar to attack him instead of me, still wasn't enough, the boar seen him off, then came back to me all the while summoning up the other smaller boars.

I think I killed it at level 12. A combination of flaming swords, lots of rolling and the health heal.
