I tried the same. Felt like attacking a battle tank with a floppy dildo hehe

I spent almost £100 on the pre-order bundle, and I still think that was money well spent, considering the hours of enjoyment I have got from this (and still am), so £25 is a steal!

Finished Odyssey, have moved on (backwards) to Origins. I did have to drop the difficulty down for some of the bosses as I was getting so pissed off, I was scared I'd hurl my xbox controller through my OLED eventually, played majority of the game on hard difficulty though. Might go back and get the DLC in order to get all the achievements for it, but have about 80% of them as of now, I think last call I've spent about 90 hours on it.

It’s a long, long game - longer than RDR2 I’d guess. So, value wise that’s good. A bit samey, mind you. Depends if you like AC games or not. I’ve been playing on and off for a couple of weeks now, and am maybe 1/3 of the way through going by the map...

Yes the voice acting of the guy is terrible!

I got a lot of enjoyment out of it due to the various routes you could take, hunting down the cult, following the main mission, side missions, hunting the legendary animals and the mythical creatures, also just wandering about and charging into forts to take down 30+ people at once. It got a bit samey about 60 hours in, but thats a hell of a lot of entertainment by then. I paid £45 for it off amazon and as said above, money well spent.

i must admit i've gone off this one after about 40 hours. once it becomes apparent that it doesn't matter which side you fight for and therefore which side controls an island they are all your enemies it kind of made a lot of what i'd achieved pointless.

yes i get that fact you are a merc but after spending time sleuthing out fortresses and shifting the balance of power to the red team to pop off for a bit and come back to find the same fort now populated with red troops that are your enemies felt a bit pointless.

i found the game play a tad clumsy at times, climbing and ledge hanging used to be easy its now more difficult, the defence and attack melee is awkward and jumpy - its not the best Ac for me by quite a way...

Bought this last week ready for a lockdown situation, in which case I can only go to work and the shop. Bought some bundle edition, ended up getting AC3 & Rogue with it too, as well as the Odyssey DLCs. Played just over 20 hours so far, at level 20 but I haven't done much of the main storyline, just upgraded the spear. I've mostly just been hunting people down and looting fortresses. It's probably the best AC I've played, other than the original because that was groundbreaking. I enjoy the hunter perk which does 1000% damage, that helps me kill any tough bosses, plus there's a warrior Fury ability that generates you 3 bars of adereniline, which is enough to use the hunter perk.

Anyone else recently playing this? I definitely recommend it, I put it off for ages because I thought AC games had gotten boring and the same, but this one is definitely much better (Although I haven't played Origins or any of the previous couple).

I love both almost the same, but I d feel that a little more 'heart and soul' went into Origins, so that may just edge it. I love both periods, Classical Greece and Rome, and have played both to death, but have started a new Odyssey game again.

I have it on PS4, I bought it after my HTPC stopped working, and boy are the loading screens slow. I since fitted a new mobo to the PC and all's well again, and the difference in performance between PS4 and PC is very noticeable.

I enjoy the gameplay of Odyssey, just wish the armour / weapon stuff was a little less RPG-y.

Or it had a button for 'rummage in my kit for the best Hunter / Warrior / Assassin setup' smile

Loved Odyssey, once you get that ship and open up the map it is VAST. Played for well over 100 hours.

Bought the Gold edition for $23 on the US store after playing the trial over the weekend. Enjoying it, slight tones of Ghost Recon Wildlands in terms of scale but for about £20 with all the DLC it will keep me occupied plenty!

At 32 hours playtime now, just hit level 31. I checked my stats earlier and I'm 29% of the way through, it amazes me that I really haven't even touched the surface yet. I went to the arena for the first time earlier, thought that it would be a bit bigger than it was, I was disappointed, but maybe there's more to come. Got 7 more kills until I can upgrade my spear to level 5 I think, should be able to get some overpowered abilities after that.

I found it a fun game overall, played through as the bloke first currently on a second go through as the lady - probably better acted/voiced etc.

Combat is fun the story is good and the views are great. Like all AC games theres not heaps of variety in some missions but its not too bad.
Think I had about 100 hrs for first play through

Bought this as my lockdown game and have been playing it every night for the last 4 or 5 weeks. Have been playing as Alexios and didn’t find him annoying, but having read this thread I’m wondering if I missed out by not choosing Kassandra

I’ve completed all of the main story, just got a few of the side quests left to do. Am up to level 64. Have done just over 100 hours.

Thought I’d have a quick look at the DLC and was shocked to see the season pass is about £34! I only paid £22 for the game so that doesn’t seem worth buying on top. I’m quite annoyed that the achievements for the DLC already appear in the achievement list even if you don’t own the DLC. I thought it used to be in games that DLC achievements only appeared if you bought the DLC. This is just a sneaky way to get those with completion OCD to shell out more money.

I have played all of the main AC games right the way through, the only one I didn’t fully complete everything on was Syndicate, for some reason I hated that game, probably because I really didn’t like the characters in it. This one has felt a bit repetitive and I was quite disappointed when I realised the battles made no difference because everyone is your enemy and places randomly change hands anyway. Overall I have enjoyed it, just not sure I can be bothered to finish every single location because there are so many of them.

Also found the ships a bit disappointing. None of the weapons seem to be as effective as just ramming other ships.

I bought this on release and started as Alexios, I didn't get very far and put it down and forgot about it. When lockdown came about I picked it back up again and started as Kassandra this time, the voice acting is much better in my opinion.

It is, she really adds a lot of life to the charachter.

Same with mass effect, the female voice actress was better and improved the experience.

Totally, given the amount of narrative which adds to the game experience, you don't want the dull stupid sounding Alexios babbling on for 100 hours!
