I think that’s the one part that has let it down for me. Feels too small compared to what it could be as I was hoping for lots of exploring.

Yeah for an "Open world game" it feels rather claustraphobic. I mean skyrim i didnt start the main quest till i was about 50+ hours in

TBF Obsidian has never described it as an open world game afaik. I think the hype comparing it to FO:NV has maybe given people an unfair expectation of what it's going to be.

It actually reminds me of Dragon Age 2 a bit, which also got a bit of stick for small maps and lack of exploration at release iirc.

I suppose. I must admit most other rpgs are in a similar vein world wise i guess i was just wanting an open world game and i think it could be but then you end up with a 1001 fetch and carry missons that have no impact on anything or stupid sims u like fallout 4

Finished it this morning. 33 hours all in with no outstanding quests in my journal. I guess there’s stuff still to find as there’s 20 achievements outstanding, different choices in missions and stuff.

Really enjoyed it. Would recommend.

I've decided I'll wait until the price drops for this. I've re installed fallout 4 so that is taking my spare time for now.

Looks good. But not for me until it's a bit cheaper.

I see Fallout NV is now only a couple of quid on cdkeys.com. Fallout 3 too.

I was going to buy this on the day of release as it looked to be right up my street in so far as I thought it would be free roaming open world.
I'll hold back a bit now as I have just re-started Fallout 4 again this time as a different character and I really do like this game despite it being about my forth complete re-start.
What I would really like is for there to be released an add on just tripling the size of the existing world, not fussed about it being different like Nuka World or Far Harbour just 3 times the size of map of what's there at the moment and I'd still be happy with more of the same enemies, companion choice. Is that too much to ask? I'd happily pay another £30 for an expansion pack like it.

I'm up to level 8 and quite enjoying it. It doesn't have the atmosphere of the Fallout games but I like the 'familiarity' of the controls and experience.

It's a nice break from PUBG but I'm thinking I perhaps should have waited for it to come down in price.

I think that’s a good choice. It’s fun but not worth the full price tbh

Me too, but I'm sure we'll get stung when DLC/expansions come out and find out it's not included in GamePass.

I do try to stay away from the main storyline for as long as possible, and do all the side/companion/faction quests to get my money's worth though - got 5 companions so far.

I'm going round for the fourth time now - still finding quests I didn't find first, or more accurately, I stumbled across half way thru, so didn't get the whole story.

Finding new routes to places.

I've done the MSI / Iconoclast thing four different ways now.

I've started a second playthrough on supernova difficulty. Going to make different choices and I'm leveling my character to be a bit more aggressive as well. Going to be a bit of a bad bd laugh.

Not sure if I'll stick with supernova yet. I get annoyed with survival mechanics if they're too punitive, it's already annoyed me by only letting you sleep in the bed on the ship that you can't access until you do the power regulator mission.

TBH if you collect enough bits, you can tinker with the guns until they're massively overpowered. By the end of my first playthrough my main gun was a unique assault rifle called the thunderer that I'd levelled to 25 or something. Was doing 808dps with a shock effect. Also a unique light assault rifle that was doing around 700 dps and N-ray damage.

The think the gun skills only really affect crit damage.

Is you level science (I think) to 100 you get 90% off tinkering costs as well.

I had a light machine gun cranked up to 1800DPS, thar was fairly effective.

Finished first play through last night, I'd put about 31hrs into it. I do kind if wish it were longer, and had more open world/exploratory elements, but I still really liked the game. The "feels like a game from a decade ago" aspect is actually appealing to me!

I got what I consider to be a "good" ending, might do a second playthrough as a proper corporate mook this time.

I heard there's quite a good early ending if you keep your intelligence low and try and take over from ADA on the Hope.

Apparently you pilot the ship straight into the sun, killing yourself and everyone else on board laugh
