Your game of the year

For me, it was the unexpectedly pleasant surprise that was the Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion.
Granted, it isn't a full game exactly but, it completely transformed the game into something more like the glory days towards the tail end of vanilla Destiny's life. It really felt like old times, playing with all the same reprobates again. Definitely sunk more hours into that than any other game this year (although Project cars 2 is rapidly catching up and is my runner up).
And now you just need to stop slacking and get stuck in to Black Armory with those same reprobates. They do miss you, believe it or not!Granted, it isn't a full game exactly but, it completely transformed the game into something more like the glory days towards the tail end of vanilla Destiny's life. I am surprised here how many PVE games there are on this list , I stopped playing PVE since pretty much forever and we had stable fast internet connections (so 20y algo)
PVP is so much richer an experience , whether the game is FPS, RTS or MMORPG (never played those)
Problem I find with PVP is instead of enjoying many different games you just start playing one and that’s all you want to play as it’s not about completing the game but getting better vs the player base
Hm - agreed to a point, as I do struggle to prioritise other single player games over PubG with my mates but Dark Souls (re-played it all when the re-master came out), 2, 3, Bloodborne etc. All amazing experiences. Definitely refreshing compared to another 100 hours of COD. I'm playing Nioh at the moment too. But I do only tend to turn it on crazy late at night once my PubG team have called it a night.PVP is so much richer an experience , whether the game is FPS, RTS or MMORPG (never played those)

RW
Ghost Recon Wildlands has had a lot of play - can only dedicate 30 mins sometimes & with a mate you can take down a couple of bases in that time.
RDR2 - didnt like it at first but then really got into it.
Farcry 5 - co-op fun. Especially when my teammate let slip he hadnt bought the parachute yet. My only choice was to fly us up into the stratosphere in a helicopter and jump out. Gliding safely to earth in my wingsuit as my mate plumetted to his fiery death.

Bought Assassins creed odyssey because of this thread, $50nzd for the basic game
Just finished all the main stories/quests at around 70 hrs played.
A lot of it is repetitive (kind of expected for AC), and the RPG side is relatively weak but a decent game overall.
Graphics kicks the crap out of my system (i5-2500k/gfx960)!
Value for money but I wont be replaying much as there doesnt seem much scope for different gameplay or story unlike Witcher 3.
