I'm playing on PC and it is a beautiful game, in many ways reminds me of RDR2 with the way the landscape sprawls and Last of Us 1/2 with the control mechanics and some combat + story scenes. The day/night cycles and ambience etc are really nice too. Playing on ultra-wide with everything maxed out and it really does give some nice immersion.
I am only 10 hours in though and those 10 hours have only been recently binged (around 2 hours) as I've had the game for about a year lol just never put much time into it.
I think the game changing weapons are not far off, just helped find the missing girl (Lisa) and am on the next storyline quest.
Really, games like these are meant to be experience in ultra-wide and on an OLED screen, the night scenes really are a stand-out on perfect blacks. That and just how smooth the motion is. I'm playing with it locked at 120fps (gsync) at 144Hz refresh rate but you cannot lock to 144fps n-game, only presets like 120, 150 etc which is odd but hey ho 120fps will "have to do" lol..
For reference I found RDR2 really cool but way way way too boring as you are basically going from A to B on horseback over and over again and the distances are just far too huge to make it enjoyable lol.
I can't wait for the Last of Us remake to come out on PC, hopefully before the new year. Ultra-wide on that will be immense. I played that game back on the PS3 and was one of the only games I bought a PS3 for, completed, then sold lol.

What's your PC spec, Robbie?
I completed Days Gone on PS4 Pro last year but I'm tempted to get it for PC and have another go.
My PC is an i7, RTX2080. Would be nice to run it at 4k at 60hz (only on a cheap TV).
You may be alright with an OG 2080 - My 2070 Super used to get a solid 60-70fps in the game for example with the same res and settings. It's a lot of pixels t push for a 2080 though for sure.I completed Days Gone on PS4 Pro last year but I'm tempted to get it for PC and have another go.

For reference my CPU is a 12700KF and in-game the CPU usage hovers in the single digits according to GeForce Experience whilst the GPU (3080 TI FE undervolted) is around 98% utilised.

I am currently playing this most nights. I finished tonight stunning a newt with the red T-shirt to take back to Sarah.
How far am I off completing it?
You're about 80% of the way through the story I'd reckon. Then once you finish that, the majority of the hordes are unlocked...How far am I off completing it?
80%! I looked ingame on the missions maps screen and it shows progress of the storyline, I've put in abour 15 hours according to Steam and the game says I am 14% through the story!
I do spend a lot of time just exploring and marvelling at the graphics though lol.
Have to say the way the camera moves and the way Jacob moves are as a combination, so fluid and natural. Have not seen that in any other game since The Last of Us series when I played them on the PS3 (and cannot wait to play on PC soon):

Had a few issues with that one myself but there's a relatively easy way to deal with the horde.
You have to kill the horde, you can't just evade them and escape. See if you can find a ledge that drops down into an open area with a narrow gap at the end - you may get warned you are leaving the mission area. You drop down the ledge and open fire on the horde when they follow you. If you start to get overwhelmed, squeeze though the gap as they can't follow you. They'll lose interest and wander off after which you can squeeze back through the gap, lure them in to the same area and repeat until they are gone. Depending on ammo you may have to head back to the main area to pick up some supplies mid scrap.
Skip to 12mins in this video and you'll see the gap. The guy in this vid keeps running around but you can hover around the gap and skip from one side to the other - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpmG5AOTOvA

It’s doing my head in tonight.
Stuck in a cave after finding 4 of Brian’s men. I must of spent an hour trying to kill the herds and give up trying to get out back to my bike,
There is a place you can run to where they don't really follow... You can then drop grenades/fire etc at them.. You find it just by running like hell for a while and getting lucky......Stuck in a cave after finding 4 of Brian’s men.
