My headache tonight is if I load any pre saved flight, my joystick won’t work. Select a flight from the main menu, not a problem, but nothing at all with saves.

Not a great disaster granted, but I’ve a flight saved where I’m about half way around the world in a Cirrus, and I’d like to complete it sometime!

Doesn't really matter if its 98Gb or 98Mb you will still end up installing everything from scratch again. I haven't done a complete re-install in about 2 days now, I'm getting bored.

I had a bit of comedy playing last night - I prefer starting from parked/cold and going through the startup sequence for whatever plane I'm flying.

I'd chosen a Cessna (can't remember which one, but just a single prop, no drama version), got it up and running and had the engine ticking over. Requested pushback from ATC and not only did the guy drive himself straight through the prop, but when it eventually figured out "this isn't right" and snapped him to the right place on the plane and begin my pushback, that me requesting "turn the plane to the left" meant he did a 180 (with me still attached).

As planes aren't famed for their reverse gear, and the ATC menu was glitching out meaning I couldn't request pushback stop, I just had to sit there while he parked me in the wall of the terminal, and apparently full throttle in a Cessna isn't enough to overwhelm the voluminous torque of one of those little ride-on pushback carts.

Eventually after a couple of resets, I stopped asking him to turn, just told him to stop at the apron. Still needed a 180 turn on the rudder, which gave me a ticking off because apparently at that point I didn't have my taxi route. No st sherlock! I'm trying just to get away from the terminal!!

I now see why most players (xbox maybe, but I'm one of them as well) like to start hot and running at the end of the runway.

The concept of a pushback for a small GA plane is laughable. Any small plane should just start at 180 in the parking spot, given it's most likely been pushed in by hand.

Hotfix update is now live for both PC and Xbox, it’s only 1.2gb on Xbox.

Right well this is what has happened to me today. Apparently the hotfix was coming out at 4pm today, all evening nothing changed for me, no hot fix, game just ran as normal. Funnily enough after doing a hell of a lot of messing about with it and doing a complete 125gb re-install+30gb extras it was finally playing ok again.

So this hot fix, 10 minutes ago I thought I'll just have a quick look where it is, nothing in the game so I opened the microsoft store, just as I pressed the close X on th store something started to download but I already pressed it. I go back into the store to see what it is and it says there was a problem with FS and I need to re-install it.

So there we are. No more flight sim on my PC again looking at the C drive its as if it was never there, 200gb of data wiped out in the blink of an eye. I didn't have time to back up my community folder of 50gb this time either so thats gone again.

Does anyone have the home address of someone from Asobo, preferably in the UK as I don't think I can get to the USA at the moment.

Hotfix updated just fine for myself having been prompted by the game to initiate the hotfix update via the Microsoft Store . . . .

Potentially, you are inept . . .

I used it 5 or 6 times this evening, no hint or anything of a hot fix in the game, last time was about 10pm. Its only by chance I opened the store to see if it was there.

The thing is if you are a PC user you are expected to have a degree in computer science to get things working. If you have an X box the most complicated thing you have to do is mash the green button.

I'm pretty convinced MS want office users on ripoff office PC's and gamers on X box and they are prepared to send people round the twist to achieve it.

I wouldn't even mind but according to FS forums the hot fix problems are still there.

I had the same “reinstall” thing on mine. It downloaded the update in the background for some reason, not showing in the store. I didn’t press “reinstall” because I didn’t want to reinstall... I instead found MSFS 2020 in the start menu and clicked it. The game then ran absolutely fine.

You have my sympathy mate. See what I mean about posting anything negative about the Sim and the reaction you will have from some people ? It’s very strange ….

Everyone has different experiences and I would imagine for some they just don't want to admit that they made a bad purchase despite being told many times how bad it could be. I don't think its a bad game for £60, when its working its very good its just that it takes up more time to keep going than a new born baby.

Anyway I left it downloading again last night and it was re-installed by the time I got up this morning. Didn't seem to run the GPU at full tilt either this time during the download so that was good. All I need to do now is download all the 3rd party zip files again, I'm definitely keeping the zip files in a backup folder this time.

You can still dig what it is while also admitting it's the worst owning and operating experience of any piece of software in human history.

Anyone who denies that marks themselves out as either exceedingly lucky or more likely a bit weird.

Not sure if its just an itch or a keeper, so spent a mere couple of hundred on an xbox series s, and it just works, all day every day. No crashes, no install problems, no maxxing out resources etc etc.

It might not have a zillion fps, not the highest resolution known to man, but had plenty of semi realistic flights so far. Heathrow to Newcastle and return is both educational and relaxing.

Happy enough so far, no complaints at all.
