Brilliant! Now if I can just get it to update its all gravy! Seriously, this game is a nightmare for me,how Microsoft ever managed to perfect the tracking chips in vaccines,I'll never know biggrin

Mine’s all done and seems to work ok (on the Xbox) some nice new landing challenges, The game did exit a couple of times by itself which I haven’t seen before though.

Switzerland and the alps are looking pretty good and Berlin seems to have had some upgrades.

Apparently some weird glitches on the pc with floating layers of city lights and all sorts of oddness.

I now can't load FS on PC. It stops with "Game update available - a new mandatory update is available. Please update MFS in the Microsoft Store before launching". And in the MS Store there is no update shown, the only option in Launch, which goes round in a circle. Anyone else had this, or know how to get past it?

Can you sign out and open the game from the Xbox app on your pc? That seems to solve some of these issues.

I just tried my office machine, and FS2020 loads OK. That's running Win 11 beta, which looks to have a new Xbox app. Will try the Xbox app on my gaming machine (Win 10)

Same result, surely not yet another install ...

Seen similar on different forums.

People seem, to be getting around it by various combos of logging out and in via Xbox app or even game pass app and switching pc/Xbox off and on etc.

It’s always exciting the new update, what will the new scenery look like? will my game work, what bit will be fixed, what new things will be broken Etc

Thanks - I think what fixed it was signing out of then into the Xbox app, going into Store then despite being told there was no update, persisting on clicking things FS-related until it finally started to download a 509MB patch. Now in FS Installation Manager downloading a 2.67GB update (mandatory update)

Ah, and then I get access to the 5.1GB DACH world update which says "you must be running MFS version 1.19.8.0 to use this content"

Had my first flight the other day, using Xbox Series S. Only did the training sessions, taxi, take off, landing etc which was enough to confuse my easily confused brain!!

The Xbox is in my lads bedroom, so I only get chance to play it when he's at school. Roll on next Monday.

“Cabin Crew, doors on automatic, cross-check and report. Thank you.”

The F-14/F-15/A-10 and a couple of other jets and interesting aircraft got released on the Xbox this week, I had to buy the F-14 just because I spent so many hours on Over G on the 360 flying the F-14s around and landing on carriers.

This is a video of overflying Bournemouth showing how the swept wings work! 100x better to fly than the poor Typhoon effort.

Sorry to ask such a newbie question, but how do you get that view. Full screen with discreet heads-up instrumentation, please?

Finally managed to sort my Game Pass and have this downloading now, might be able to play by the end of the week the way the download is going hehe

It wasn't an issue with FS2020 but with the Game Pass itself, online solutions had me buggering around with the regedit and powershell to remove the msstore which just made things worse. In the end, I had to sync the time/date on my machine, it was already showing the right time but this did something behind the scenes and resolved it....crazy!

Game Pass is great, the netflix of games if you will, but my lord its an awful bit of software, very buggy

Some great routes to check out here of varying length and location.

From worst place to be a pilot series

https://worldtour.flights/flightplans/113

Plus another one

https://worldtour.flights/flightplans/334

If you’re on an Xbox you just have to make the route yourself on the map.

I have this running on my pc via game pass i use an Xbox controller (latest version & updated) works very well once you adjust the sensitivity settings (plenty of setting on YouTube).

My problem is when i land its almost impossible to taxi, no matter how much rudder or left stick it just doesn't follow where you want to go. On take off i can taxi no problem, this is using the default planes. Game looks beautiful and i haven't noticed any stuttering on max 4k settings.

I have that taxi issue also sometimes, especially the 787. It doesn’t seem to happen all the time though? Seems to be for me when I put on large power settings but it’s hard to tell.

I don’t think I get it on the small aircraft as much.

My jet of choice is the Citation Longtitude - it seems to restrict the nosewheel steering above a certain speed. Not sure where the cutoff is, but I don't think it's much higher than about 10-15 knots. Once I figured that out it made it a lot easier to get out of tight spaces, and backtrack then 180.

Hows the Dreamliner compare to the real deal after a few updates ?

Not great still.

Looks good and things are in the right place but not much works as it should.

It’s good for practicing scans flows and procedures Etc as it looks realistic but the architecture behind it is pretty poor.

You constantly see things that don’t look right so have to look it up and see what’s supposed to happen so in some ways it gets me in the books.

So it’s a bit of a mixed lot really.

I actually practice scans etc in the 787 on the stand but don’t use it much in flight as I think I’d be practicing mistakes.

The game itself is pretty good for revision though and practicing motor skills Etc but at the end of the day all theses sims are games and have their limitations.

Hopefully the qualitywings 787 on FS2020 will be good but that seems to have all gone quiet.
