Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
Discussion
Recent update has added WASM support to Xbox, which means we can get most things you PC guys have! I’ve just bought the Top Mach Studios F22, anyone else used it much at all?
Edit:
Had a few flights now and it’s incredible! The thrust vectoring is so fun to play with

New user on xbox series X. Anyone else have issues of no thrust working, couldnt take off last night at all, looking online seems others have had this issue. I restarted the Xbox and had same issue, restarted again and all was ok. Odd.
That's a new one I haven't seen yet. Are you using the controller or a stick? Finally got my 2 monitors up and running.
Anyone got any tips?
I am not getting good frame rates, down from 35-40 to low 20s and in busy areas less than 20 which makes it not flyable.
My monitors are 2560*1440.
I tried turning them down to 1080 and the combining them again but whilst thats helped FPS now back up to 35 ish its now quite blurry and I cant read a lot of the details without zooming in?
Other than that 2 screens is great, much better flying experience.

I found this useful when sorting my settings out as to what does and doesn't have a huge impact of the hardware. I ended up changing most of the settings from Ultra to Medium which lifted the framerate substantially. Then I increased the settings on the bits I wanted - such as depth of field, water and trees. The rest of it looks about the same from 3000 ft+up.

I appreciate its an old machine!
At a guess I'd say your GPU is struggling to run 2 x 2560*1440 screens at 60fps.32gb RAM

I'm running on a 2080 at 3,440*1,440 and have to lower the quality to get decent FPS.

Cheers I tried those settings and now getting more like 40fps which is much better.I found this useful when sorting my settings out as to what does and doesn't have a huge impact of the hardware. Might keep my eye out for a 2080ti...

I had a similar setup last year, albeit with a 1080ti, and found the only way was to start at the lowest graphics settings and gradually scale upwards to something that was OK visually whilst still being playable.
Well well, that's something I'd never have expected in FS.

Whatever next, a Handley Page Heyford?

Well my month for a quid is coming to an end. Flown about 20 hours or so.
Pretty impressed with it and did get my frame rate issue sorted.
I am not going to renew, for now.
I am away for a couple of months and I also need to invest in a new graphics card I think.
Will prob buy the full game rather than use a GP.
