What do you guys use for controls, I have the Saitek yoke and pedals but my main issue is all the minor controls and finding the right key in time when needing to be quick.
I got a bit over excited and built these. Still working on the centre console with the throttles etc. The Garmins need finishing as well but my god the wiring for those is a fiddle. J4CKO said:

Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, with logitech saitek radio and multi-panel. I find i am slightly happy with the keyboard to one side for everything else - albeit i would like some sort of rudder controls, but it would have to be a hybrid set up for racing.I am trying to learn to fly, so this set up does me nicely a couple of times a week for a couple of hours.
There aparently is a new range of Honeycomb assessories coming out with digital dash, but based on honeycomb's current release speed... i am not holding my breath. 2024 / 2025...

Late to the party here, but hear me out.
I started with MSFS 3.0 in '88, so I'm a long-time fan of the franchise, but for various reasons after FSX I had a brief flirtation with P3D, and then moved totally to X-Plane 11. I had been avoiding MSFS2020 for a couple of reasons, firstly - the download data requirements. I didn't have the fastest connection, so felt I wouldn't really be getting the best from it, and secondly - I'm a VR flyer, and the initial feedback was that the VR experience wasn't great.
So, I persevered with XP11, and spent a lot of money on add-ons, and then when XP12 was released earlier this year, started to migrate across. XP12 seemed like a step backwards in VR performance, even with everything dialled back it just didn't run well, but it was just about good enough to practice my real-world scans and flows, and keep current when away from real flying. However, after a giving XP12 a year to iron out the bugs I gave up, and picked up MSFS2020 in the Steam autumn sale.
To say I am impressed is an understatement. I'll admit the flight model doesn't seem as 'real' as X-Plane, but the visuals absolutely blow it out of the water. I had ortho scenery for the UK but this MSFS takes it to another level with the buildings and treescapes. And the VR performance is excellent. Not quite as good as DCS but waaay better than XP12. Even the interface and stability (which I heard a lot of complaints about in the early days) seems very good, and the fact that you can (almost instantly) switch between VR and pancake makes dealing with configurations and planning so much better than trying to do it all 'under the hood'.
I'm so impressed I've just started leg one of a UK-Cape Town flight in a Tiger Moth. Might take a while but while this is not the first light aircraft RTW I have done in MSFS (the first was in a Cessna Caravan with FS2004), it will be the first where the scenery will actually make it worth the effort.
Oh, and I suppose I'll be spending another small fortune on add-ons again.

Looks spectacular.
I dunno where that YouTuber got his 'pilot voice' but it's intolerable and i hope he doesn't use it in the sack.
What a stupid comment! Have you considered that this could actually be his real voice? Into the Blue Simulations is one of the best flight sim reviewers IMO, I believe he is a commercial pilot, His reviews are educating, Precise and he knows what he is talking about.I dunno where that YouTuber got his 'pilot voice' but it's intolerable and i hope he doesn't use it in the sack.
I bit the bullet and bought msfs a couple of days ago and for me it’s been a buggy mess.
On a few occasions it’s just crashed to desktop, so I decided to wipe it and do a fresh install only for it to hang when decompressing.
Wouldn’t be quite so bad but it takes bloody hours to download!
Anyone had similar and can shed any light?
I’ve given up in disgust now and gone back to dcs..
