I know there's no info at the moment, but are we expecting keyboard/mouse support on Xbox Series X to allow for a bit of a hybrid between the console and PC experience?
There's certain things that I just can't imagine any way you could do with a gamepad, or even if you could, would be so cumbersome as to be unenjoyable.
I don't think they've announced any of that yet but the info might come in August when we get some more details on the Series X. I personally can't see it as the console experience is likely to be tailored towards a more simple approach with more aids on, whereas someone interested in the full suite of options is more likely to be playing it on PC.There's certain things that I just can't imagine any way you could do with a gamepad, or even if you could, would be so cumbersome as to be unenjoyable.
Haven't played it myself but watched my friend play it via Discord for a couple hours yesterday
Seemed a bit buggy, some elements weren't working fully, pitch adjustment on a prop aircraft didn't seem to function and we couldn't get Autopilot to follow a specific heading in a 747, and there were some performance issues.
But my god, we flew over my town and I could actually recognise it, that's insane.
Talking of which
Can anyone recommend any Joystick / HOTAS for around £150?
I've been looking at some Thrustmaster ones but reviews are mixed in terms of quality / durability.

Some low/high ultra performance frame rates at 1080p and 4k on an i7 6700k/RTX 2080 Super - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctmzO6DBydc&t=...

Ordered the HP Reverb G2 on a bit of a whim yesterday after seeing the news it would be compatible at launch, then within a couple of hours the price on it had gone up by over £100. Quite pleased with that, as even if I don't get on with it I shouldn't lose any money on it.
Please let me know how you get on with it! Very seriously thinking of one too.FourWheelDrift said:

Interesting. So in 1080p a 2080 with decent CPU should be able to hold around 50fps which is pretty good. However in 4K its not looking so hot, which does not bother me one bit as I dont have a 4K monitor BUT it does not give me much hope for VR just yet.
All that said, I put most hours into FS back in the days when 30fps on max sliders was just a dream at 1080.. it wasnt really until the 690 came along and the i7 of the year too that people started to really get some higher frame rates.
So what are we, 8 years later and we are still around 30fps but 4 times the resolution or roughly 3 times the speed at 1080p.
BUT then look at FSX scenery compared to the 2020 scenery.... er yeah. LOL
It's definitely one they've built with future GPUs in mind, I've only got a GTX1080 right now but eyeing up the 3080 or whatever comes out in a few months, that should allow for a lot more fidelity both in VR and on a 4K screen hopefully.
As to the Reverb G2 I'll put up some thoughts when it arrives and I've had a chance for a play around with it.

Not quite sure to go with this as a pre-order or not.
I've got triplescreens on a 2070 super which could be considered 4K so worried this might not run that great. Watching the beta reviews a few comments that the loading was quite long so just popping in for 30min fly might be a bit more involved and a feeling that it's only worth using for a long session.
I have DCS, Flight Sim X, X-Plane 11 and (picked up on steam sale) Aerofly FS2 so I'm not sure what additional angle FS 2020 would add. Super delux is over £100 which is a bargain for what it is I guess.
However, I was really suprised with Aerofly FS2. Runs butter smooth at 120 FPS with graphics on max and there is a lot of free third party scenary available online. A great program for VR and loads really quickly so booting up for a quick 30 min trip is a joy.
Worth looking at that as I was very suprised and hesitant to get it as it has some limitations (other planes, air traffic control etc). It does seem to be developed and they are releasing a big update soon.
Can't see any helicopters with FS 2020 which is a shame as they are a great way to explore the scenery. The Huey on DCS is lots of fun and worth exploring.
For sure it will continue to expand and be developed but I'm not sure it will be all there at launch. The graphics are fantastic but I'd much rather have a natural and believable flight model so only time will tell.
