Not quite sure to go with this as a pre-order or not.
I've got triplescreens on a 2070 super which could be considered 4K so worried this might not run that great. Watching the beta reviews a few comments that the loading was quite long so just popping in for 30min fly might be a bit more involved and a feeling that it's only worth using for a long session.
I have DCS, Flight Sim X, X-Plane 11 and (picked up on steam sale) Aerofly FS2 so I'm not sure what additional angle FS 2020 would add. Super delux is over £100 which is a bargain for what it is I guess.
However, I was really suprised with Aerofly FS2. Runs butter smooth at 120 FPS with graphics on max and there is a lot of free third party scenary available online. A great program for VR and loads really quickly so booting up for a quick 30 min trip is a joy.
Worth looking at that as I was very suprised and hesitant to get it as it has some limitations (other planes, air traffic control etc). It does seem to be developed and they are releasing a big update soon.
Can't see any helicopters with FS 2020 which is a shame as they are a great way to explore the scenery. The Huey on DCS is lots of fun and worth exploring.
For sure it will continue to expand and be developed but I'm not sure it will be all there at launch. The graphics are fantastic but I'd much rather have a natural and believable flight model so only time will tell.

I find VR to be the same as sitting on the flight deck of an actual airliner, it is utterly amazing, but the current hardware isnt up to the job really, or my Occulus isn't.
I think it needs to be a couple of generations further on for me, no wires, better resolution and better control methods in the sim.
I am sure FS2020 will support it, they have said it will and we have to remember what a massive undertaking this is.
It will be a living, breathing platform and criticising it on day one is a bit short sighted given that the other sims have years of development, a lot of it by third parties. Of course it will take a little while to hit its stride, it has the whole planet as scenery.
Imagine going back to the eighties and showing the footage FS2020 ?
I believe it will become the standard for flight sims, however good Prepar3D, Xplane and whatever are, they will never have that level of world detail, and even if FS2020 is lacking in some areas I cant see that being the situation very long as the community and 3rd party developers get onto it.
Be interesting to see if MS allow the community to provide updates to the scenery, would be cool if people could submit their improvements, have them ratified and included and the whole planet get gradually updated to the same accuracy as the big cities like New York.
All good as long as Asobo deliver what they have promised.I think it needs to be a couple of generations further on for me, no wires, better resolution and better control methods in the sim.

My first sim was on the Beeb. 747 by DACC 1983 !

Probably had just about every mainstream flightsim since then.

I've been testing it for about 7 months and there is something about it that just leaves me cold ... I would do a flight and think yeah the graphics look nice but always go back to P3D...
Hopefully it will grow on me ...
I have yet to play 2020 but I get the feeling its a bit like comparing Forza Horizon to rFactor2.Hopefully it will grow on me ...

A new problem..... Minimising installer - I9-9000k CPU usage is at 32%, graphics card on 2070 is at 99%!!!! On Screen, 12% cpu, 10% GPU. Weird. I only noticed as my fans started to spin up like a 747...
Yeah I read about that on a forum somewhere... I'm hoping it supports my X52 out of the box ... Did your peripheral setup go OK ?I also miss the one button outside view on P3D.... It's pretty finicky on FS2020.
There is also something about the actual graphics that I think looks a bit odd ....
I suppose it just needs time. It will be nice to have both installed.
It looks like much has been improved and fixed from the Beta I was testing.
