I realise this will be a silly question but it's the first NFS game in ages hehe is it free roam in single player?

Yeah, you can drive around where you want. The races are graphics in the roads that you press a button to enter. Similar to Forza Horizon/Burnout etc.

I haven't owned a NFS game since 'Undercover' I think, so quite a while ago!

I was really excited for the last few titles, they looked awesome, but then because of negative reviews etc. I just never bothered with them.

I think I might give this one a try.

Tried to use the Heat App, but it refused to work on my aging iPhone. Just crashed it every time.

Review video of NFS Heat on the Failrace channel https://youtu.be/ZOC0CIKxqxo

He's done about 10 hours playing the game so not everything is unlocked.

Picked it up earlier and it's good, driving is a little janky but I'll get used to that! Looks good but seen a couple folk mention the film grain type filter that's on it and I do agree it takes away from the graphics a bit.

Noticed a friend's company is in the sticker section, which is pretty cool!

But... In the words of NWA, fk tha police. They are bloody difficult and the rubber banding is a bit ridiculous.

I thought I could maybe play this on EA access. But I guess they don't put their newest games on there. Shame.

I think I probably will buy it though, I'm definitely intrigued and the reviews look fairly positive.

Disappointed there's no Blobeye STi, but at least there's a Hawk.

I'd trade a lot of those supercars for some more 80s - 00s JDM smile

I did end up buying this last week. A little disappointing tbh. But have been busy, so only played it for a couple of hours.

The car handling is very weird. Reminds me a little of Mario Kart, with the tap to drift thing. I wasn't expecting R Factor, but it could be a lot better. I'm sure I'll get more used to it over time.

It's really annoying that you can't change the controller layout. I was going to play manual, but can't work with the gear shifts on RB/LB. Probably more of an automatic style game anyway, so not such a big deal. Tried mapping the buttons in the Xbox settings, but that hurt my head! Try navigating menus when you've mapped the A & B buttons to different locations! Won't try that again. confused

The customization is quite cool. I started with the 180sx. No Rays wheels though! frown Also, having to scroll through 100+ wheels is tedious. Could have done with some sub menus or something.

The story is actually not too cringe for an NFS game. I think I'm just getting old though lol. It is very 'car scene'.

So not terrible and I'm looking forward to playing it a bit more, but could be a lot better.

I bought this in the origin sale on Sunday. Its no Most Wanted (2005) or Hot Pursuit but I find it very enjoyable to play. It looks spectacular on PC also but does use up a lot of GPU (2080Ti).

I'll admit, I bought it, sunk a bunch of hours in over a week or so but I've not been back. Struggled a lot with the police AI which took away a lot of enjoyment for me.

I downloaded on xbox because it was free and uninstalled after 15 minutes

The physics are better on some phone games now but if you're into 90s driving games with good graphics, it might just be the game for you
