I think until you've ranked up a few times MP is quite hard as you don't know the maps and you're equipped with pea shooter! I really struggled at first, got the hang of it now although there are still a few maps I have no clue where I'm going or where people hide Grazna I'm looking at you laugh
Agreed once you know the maps and have a flow that works for you there not too bad.

You also need to take your time and be considered as you make your way round the map. Some easy kills if you can.

I'm loving this game more and more, I know the maps really well now and it makes a huge difference which is obvious of course.

Favourite weapon is the Kar98k absolutely love using it, brings back the good days playing CoD2.

This is the problem I've had with every multilayer game since MW2, I struggle massively when I start fresh and it never pulls me in. Hopefully this is going to be different though.

I'm still not over how great it looks, I'm on a 4k TV but an old model console so I guess it could look even better? The recoil from the guns amazed me at first too.

Just stick with it. I'm 40, and hadn't played COD for a long long while.

Completed campaign, and then went into MP. Got my backside handed to me repeatedly. Bottom of the table every time, a few kills but 10 times as many deaths.

A few hours of play later and I'm mid table a lot of games, which is enough to keep me happy and interested for now.

This is also me, I'm 41 and the last game I really played other than GTA V was MW2. You will get your arse handed to you on a plate a fair amount at the start, but you'll soon rank up and get better weapons and perks. I think I'm maybe 8 or 10 hours in and mid table with the odd decent game and the odd I'm too old for this game moment.

I play Ghosts most weeks and normally finish in the top 3 each game. I played the new beta and got my backsided handed to me. What made a difference was after a while I started ranking up and getting better guns/attachments. This made a huge difference. I was playing the same way but getting multi kills rather than hit markers then death like I was at the start. If you stick with it, things even out with better guns and classes.

Wish they would make the objective-based games killstreaks convert into scorestreaks.

I saw there is a way to do it, but you have to use one of the Perk slots to so. Fair enough. But it just means games like Domination, there are a load of people camping for kill streaks, not playing the objective

Once you unlock a suppressor for your weapon of choice was when I found my kills increased dramatically.

That new small map is hectic though, whatever weapon or mode you play on it.

Like many on here it's my first visit back to COD for a while (dabbled briefly in WWII) but when it became all about boost packs and bouncing off walls it lost all interest to me, this however is back to old school MW.

Spent the first few hours of MP getting my arse handed to me, quickly learnt that my run and gun method wasn't going to work, especially against the 725!, as has been said by others I've adapted my game style and progressing nicely now. Love the fact sniper scopes 'glint' so they can't camp out on a grassy knoll somewhere.

On the subject of camping, I dont think digging in with an LMG in Picadilly is really camping wink

So whacked a good few hours on this over the weekend, now lvl 56, enjoying daily challenges and the rare weapon challenges, though finisher moves are a bugger to master, now I have the officer rank challenges too as they have scrapped prestige.

The new kill house that has been added is a great way to build up your skill and gain points etc.

Skill based matchmaking needs to be removed imo

Back into this as well, haven’t had a cod since BO1/MW2 era of many years ago.

Quite enjoying it, still learning the maps in MP so going to do that campaign to get a good grip of it and the controls and reactions.

Have some maps where I do ok, and others where I get slaughtered constantly but I find it best to play with a mate so you have someone to chat with/laugh at/be laughed at.

Decided to play some ground war last night, what a hilarious game mode. I managed to shoot 5 pilots out of the sky as well as numerous campers on top of buildings. I'm finding that taking the low ground is much better than trying to take snipers out at close range. People also seem to play the objective much more.

You can also take a flag by sitting on it with a tank. It's a good way to rack up some kills as well as people come rushing out to try and kill you

Why do you say that?

I do not think the skills based is very focused as I have played games with people getting 50 kills regularly and us mortals getting 2 or 3.

IMO it needs to tighten up to give us old newbies a chance.

Totally agree, SBMM is the one thing I think lets this game down.

Is that because you do not want to play against people as good as you or better than you?

No it's because it means unless you're the same level/skill as your friends it's not fair (on someone). For example I play with some friends via crossplay and some are a lower level than me, get put into games where they just get destroyed.

When I first picked up the game I jumped on with a mate who plays on PC who is incredibly good at the game and I was getting nailed. Literally straight after said to him let me try going in to my own lobby without you, and it was 100 times better where I was able to actually play without getting hammered. Jumped back in with him, same thing happened.

Latest patch notes:

https://www.reddit.com/r/modernwarfare/comments/dv...

Main thing is reduced range on 725, moved flag B on Picadilly, some tweaks to footstep sounds.
