They have announced that anyone who or has bought the Outbreak pack they will donate 100% of the funds to Australia. Based on that alone I bought it.

I have been playing for a couple of weeks now, normally a battlefield player but I’m enjoying this change of pace.
I liked the cross platform idea (I’m on PC) but although I play in lobby’s with console players regularly I haven’t been able to add any friends who play on console they never get my friend request or if they send me one I never receive it.
Anyone else experienced this or have a solution ?

I have PC players that don't use controller filtered off they may have same?

You need to use the whole activision friends/friends list which is a separate part on the Xbox menus.
I play it with a guy from my work (me on xbox, him on pc), and we just exchanged activision id's to add each other.
Works seamlessly.

This is the first PC multiplayer FPS that I've played in about 6 years and I'm only just getting to grips with it. I played COD4 a lot (over 300k kills+, yeah, I had a lot of free time back then, now I have kids), with BF3 and Black Ops afterwards. I played single player COD and Far Cry on the PS4 since I stopped PC gaming, but never played multiplayer as I'm rubbish with controllers and hate losing.
I prefer the simplicity of COD4, but this is much better than any of the other COD games I've seen since. Not sure about the lobby pairing, I'm rank 17 or something like that and most of the server is over R100, so they all have pretty much instant kill guns and I have peashooters. The new versions of the old maps are good, but I have no idea where I'm going on the other ones.
Also, how can I play with friends on consoles? I've tried to join on some via the Xbox app and the option for joining them has been greyed out. I've been told various things (Xbox and PC players can't join each other, also that I can only join them if I use a controller, which I hate using). Anyone know a way I can join them in game? Do I have to add them via the in-game friends list?

Regarding weapons when you kill someone you can pick up theirs with all mods was something I did until I ranked weapons up a bit
Thanks for the help about the crossplay, I've just told them to enable KBM.
Yes, I'm keen for a little COD4 at some point, although no idea when. I was given the new COD on about the 15th of December, I started to download it and about 20gb in, my internet died. I finished the download at a mates place, then played a little singleplayer. Despite having 2 engineers out since then, my internet has been slow/patchy and I've not played it online for a few days. They are coming again tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to play again soon.

I had a similar issue Friday lunchtime, thought I'd pop on for a quick hour or so whilst working from home. 2 hour update put paid to that 
Really got in to the swing of it now. KD ratio is improving all the time, I think the better weapons and perks really helps. Still not quite got the hang of ground war though!

Been playing a fair bit of Modern Warfare, and my thoughts so far (multiplayer) are that the gameplay is good, similar to the original MWs, but the maps are terrible, totally forgettable and will not go down as legendary like some of the old maps. I never find myself looking forward to any of them.

I largely agree although I do really like Euphrates and Azir Caves but barring that Vacant and Crash are my favourites (and they are from MW4 I think)I have recently expanded on my game modes and Headquarters works really well on Ramazza and Aniyaah Palace (a level I normally leave the lobby if it comes up)
