I’ve just managed to get one of these delivered today for my sons Birthday next week.
Quick question what’s the best way to port his existing games saves etc from his Xbox One to this new machine?
I know a lot of stuff is kept in the cloud on the Xbox gaming account but I seem to recall a lot of stuff is stored locally.
We do have an external HD also plugged in the Xbox one, so if there is free space on that it could be used for transfer I guess?
Any pointers from anyone who did this when they first got their new Xbox x muchly appreciated!

I think it can transfer from another machine on the NW. I just fired it up, picked what I wanted and left it overnight.
Yep I think that’s what we are going to do, just wanted to try and get it started and completed so that when he gets it for his Birthday it’s ready to go and he can start playing the games he already has on his one on the new X ! Mr E said:
I’d always suggest setting it up somewhere a few days before gifting it. Give the machine a chance to update itself and download all the games etc.
Nothing worse than opening a thing you can’t use for 5 hours.
Picked mine up on day of release at 8am. Had scheduled power off from 9-5....Nothing worse than opening a thing you can’t use for 5 hours.

That was my thinking exactly, but as his birthday is on a school day, he will probably only open it to check it out, and have a quince look at it etc.Nothing worse than opening a thing you can’t use for 5 hours.
I do think I might get it setup the day before for him though when he is also at school the day before.
What options do I have to expand the storage on my Series S?
Downloaded MS Flight Sim 2020 from Game Pass and it takes up a lot of storage.
For storing games, can I attach an external hard drive or should it be an SSD?
I see that Seagate do a 1TB expansion card but its nearly as much as the Series S itself!!

I've got a Series X and I bought a 1TB Sabrent Rocket Nano SSD USB drive with it from Amazon. This Digital Foundry video shows the speeds and explains the differences https://youtu.be/7y-Fy1Q2O2kDownloaded MS Flight Sim 2020 from Game Pass and it takes up a lot of storage.

The limited editions are starting,
The whole thing’s a limited edition. I’m astonished that these and PS5s are still, to all intents and purposes unobtainable so long after the launch.
I’ve never ever seen one for sale.
You do hear about people finding them randomly in Aldi or weird places though.
I can’t see it improving before Christmas which is a big shame.

Aldi have never listed the series X, Tesco do have them though but because they are in selected stores only they don't get picked up by the stock checker websites. You do hear about people finding them randomly in Aldi or weird places though.

Managed to grab an Xbox Series X last week, my 1st go with one having always been a PS buyer...1 and only reason for the change, Forza.
So now I've got it, what game do I start with? Should I just go Forza 4 until 5 comes out? What about MS Flight Sim as well, is that any good?
