I've just started ME1 myself - played it a bit in the 360 days but never got around to getting very far. So far I'm quite impressed with Legendary Edition on the XSX
Yeah the graphics are much improved. I finished one way back and did about half of 2. Going to finish them all this time …. Probably !

I've just got myself an Xbox X. Not had an Xbox since GTA V came out. Bit of an impulse buy. There are loads of games on Xbox Game Pass that look good as well!
I was worried about bringing it back home as we are saving for a house, but my other half is playing it more than me! However my sister in law dropped me in it when she mentioned the price...whoops!

After a little help and don't want to read all 84 pages!

Mrs is going away for 3 weeks soon and to try and stop myself sitting in the pub every night I was considering getting a console.

Now the last one I bought was an original xbox way back when, I haven't played a game for about the last 13 years although I do still have the disks!

Anyway, what is the best solution for the casual/ occasional gamer to get? I have no expectation of spending hours and hours gaming, but also don't want to buy something that is going to be a door stop next year.

So best/ most cost effective solution?

Does anyone know if you can install a VPN onto the Series X or S (or PS5 for that matter)?

I got gamepass at the start of 2022 when I bought a cheap One S whilst still living in the UK, but I've now moved to Europe and considering getting a Series S as they seam readily available here. Hoping I can use my existing gamepass on it but unsure if it's as simple as logged into my xbox account on the new console and despite me being in a different territory it'll let me crack on without any other issue, or if I need to trick it into thinking I'm still in the UK. I've already got a VPN account with Nord so interested to know.

I think it’ll just work.
If it doesn’t, I’d not run the vpn from the console, I’d run it from the router.

VPN on the router isn't possible due to the way my accommodation is set up (company-provided apartment and the router is locked away in a roof space above my apartment that I do not have access to) so only options are hoping it just works regardless of territory, or try to effect a VPN service on the console itself. Would be good to know before I take the leap of buying the console.

Just a heads up that the seagate internal SSDs and controllers are quite well discounted on Amazon at the moment, just got the 512gb ssd for £86 (half rrp) and a carbon black controller for £40 instead of £55.

Deal of the day: Seagate STORAGE EXPANSION CARD 512GB NVME-SSD PCIE FOR XBOX S/X https://amzn.eu/d/9amEBoF

It would be nice to have enough games worth playing to need additional storage rolleyes

The new COD is about the only game I’ve brought (pre-ordered) for 6 months,

Edit - Lego Skywalker was ok, but ridiculously easy.

Just finished that... Given the stellar reviews I expected better. Got rather repetitive, which is what I feared. Have preferred that studios previous games more.

Still enjoyable though.

Yep…me! I am a commercial pilot aswell (I recognise your username lol) although I fly rotary. I am playing it mainly using just a controller although I am probably going to get the Thrustmaster x thing. The main problem stopping me enjoying it more is the lack of head tracking - when I used to be a pc gamer I had a TrackIR and I get really frustrated using the sticks to look around. Well that and the fact living where we do the internet is mega slow and whilst the game looks ace anywhere outside a city, as soon as you try and fly over any major conurbation it looks really cruddy with blocky buildings. I’ve tried orbiting over areas to see if it improves but it’s so slowly better it’s not worth it, not the fault of the game per se but with better download I’d probably play it more tbh.
