Anyone else looking forward to this releasing in March?

Previews seem overwhelmingly positive so far. Something to shake-up the FPS genre, perhaps?

I've literally just this week started Doom (new Doom) and absolutely loving it so definitely looking forward to it. Looks brilliant.

It's been an overdue task since November when it was supposed to come out!

Doom is the only FPS I can get into for some reason. Something about the speed and melee combos

If it’s anything like the 2016 rehash. Then no. Just doesn’t play like Doom. I hear Doom64 is being included with certain pre-orders. Suspect this might be the real highlight.

I've loved Doom since day one, played many thousands of hours on many hundreds of maps but the last one and this one went checkpoints only, can't bloody stand that!

So if I like new Doom I should try old doom, or are they essentially different games?

Different games, but the originals are still really fun to play. I'm also excited that they're releasing Doom 64 as a bonus, since it's been overlooked for years.

I still play through the originals maybe once a year. Like bullet says they are of their era (early/mid 90s) so no story, you just start at level one and work your way up. However they were the first proper FPS and the game play was so balanced that is still holds up today. Worst case, they cost a few quid for the entire bundle (1, 2, expansion packs) on Steam and will play on any computer, so worth dipping into.

Just be prepared to get used to not being able to look up or down.

Luke.

Doom 2 is excellent. Doom 1 - I feel - has dated much more.

Agree entirely about Doom I / II. Doom II was just an immense game. I'm not into retro gaming, having bought things like the rehashed SNES and given it to my nephew after about 5 mins of gameplay. But there's something about Doom II that means i can play it over and over again. I would play the old Doom games over Half Life every day of the week. I never really got those games for some reason.

Back on topic, I'm looking forward to Doom Eternal and will be purchasing. Doubt i'll play the multiplayer side much, i'll be in it for the campaign. Although come to think if it i'll have to delete another game off the PS4 to fit it on. Despite the 250GB hard drive, I can only fit 3 games on it (CoD MW, Rocket League, The Last of Us Remastered), which is a bit of a joke. So along with Doom Eternal, I'm also looking forward to the release of thePS5!

The last video they watched on this game, they turned on the rap instead of Mick Gordon's music. To say he was shocked, to say nothing. I hope that doesn't happen in the final version.

The other good thing about Doom 1 & 2, at least on PC, are the virtually unlimited number of mods and wads. Project Brutality in particular is brilliant, making you feel like a 15 year old edgelord all over again.

You can just plug in an external hard drive by the way, that would solve your storage problems.

Just as a control question, can I also ask what you think of new music today?
