Have no idea but I just want to give you a shout out for the longest thread resurrection I have ever seen.

Get yourself a raspberry pi 3 b for about £40
Get a 128gb so card for £20
Plug in an arcade joystick ( I’ve installed my raspberry pi in the case of one)
Download one of the 122gb retropie images and you are all set. Thousands of games on many platforms and no risk of borking your pc.

Excellent - I struggled with getting Mame romsets to work and it was always touch and go whether they’d work in the end.
Some kind soul has done all the hard work, collected a load of romsets and artwork and has put up various images to work instantly.

Good luck with the build

I've had MAME on my PC for a number of years. Agree that getting good reliable ROMS is hard. Often there can be one or two files missing which can prevent the game starting. When it works, really great fun.

Did this a few years ago with a Raspberry Pi. Was good fun and back then there were a lot of reliable ROM sites that have since been shut down.

I hate having to go upstairs and use the PC, so bodged together a smartphone and DSLR (as card reader) to do the setup. Took miles longer but a small moral victory that the PC didn't get used (#manmaths logic).
