So I stayed up up til 00:30 waiting for Argos to post. Clearly this didn't happen so woke up at 07:30 and totally forgot to check the website. 08:20 check - site says availability I rush to put my details in do the authorised payment with my app and then CRASH. Page reloads and says it's out of stock.

Resigned to not getting one I went on John Lewis at 13:00 knowing earlier that I had seen an out of stock message. BUT NO!!!! In stock. Take the plunge on a full fat PS5. Confirmation comes through with a separate message saying congratulations your one of a very small number of people who will get a PS5 at launch.

Finally told the wife and today I've gone low, high and now in the dog house for spending £449 on a child's toy.
Divorce is the only way I see moving forward in that situation ...

Edit to say ... I once called my Mrs from Gloucester having totally out of the blue purchased a 5.7 Dax Cobra .... She never never missed a beat and calmly asked me if I would be home for tea biggrin

As much as I'd like to think that all of these pre-order tricks Sony and the retailers play won't work on me, they really do!

I've gone from thinking I probably wouldn't bother getting a PS5 at all, let alone at launch, to deciding I must have one...

It's not going well so far, but I guess they'll just keep drip feeding them through until they actually have run out of stock.

Thanks. I knew I must be doing something wrong - Very were showing out of stock of the console on its own, but if I'd clicked into the product itself, I would have seen that it is available as a bundle with the extra controller.

I've never ordered from Very before, so hopefully all will be ok.

Unfortunately, it looks as though Very have oversold their allocation and have cancelled the orders.

They have sent an email saying that they’ll apply the money to my Very account! I don’t think that will be happening, I’m pleased I paid with Amex.

The order still shows as active on my account, so they’ve obviously got themselves into a bit of a mess.

I wouldn't buy one from Very if they had the last one on earth. fking awful company.

That's what I'm worrying about!

The PS4 collection that's coming out on it looks fantastic, they're all good games.

Just a thought, may have been better of with an online order, unsure of which restrictions could be in place by November but pretty sure “delivery” firms are classed as essential workers, whilst a game shop less so

If this is the case surely your in-store order would automatically be converted to an online one? As long as you wanted it to be obviously.

Cancelled my pre-order on Amazon so one will be going back in their pot at somepoint, had been flip flopping between the 2, pre ordered both but it was always a stretch to drop nigh on a £1000 and since I ordered I've been so Xbox focused decided to cancel the PS, will probably wait until they release a newer version in 18 months/2 years

hehe

Its probably the hardest decision I have had to make of all the gens so far, was so close, Game Pass had a big say in it (and my mates mainly being on XBox)

That is a shame I would have bought it from you (well if it was the disc version!).

More stock being released in the morning on Amazon, Game, Smyths, Argos etc. apparently, worth checking out if you want one.
