As soon as GT7 has a launch date I’ll try get a console so I imagine 2022.
That’s my plan tooI’ll be buying a PS5 for GT7, whenever that is launched.
Fast half of 2021 so make that 2022.
I'm going to guess GT7 releases in May 2022.
After sacking off upgrading my pc due to the GFX availability snafu, I've readied in my PS4 Pro at game (which I got for free last December with a new mobile, (winner), and got £130 trade credit.
I expect once ps5 goes live reade in value would plummet.
I don't have a pre order so it's just check every day and get one when I can, hopefully before Xmas but we'll see.
I was able to get the collectors edition of CP 2077 for ps though as pc was, sold out, but can always just get download for pc later if u want to play on pc too.
Debating if I want the ps5 headphones or get turtle beach wireless ones instead which are the, same price or bit dearer for the Bluetooth set version... Hmmm

Why wait years to buy the PS5 as you’ll get less full life out of it Vsbuying on or as soon as it launches.
Think about the RRP / usual 8 year life it’s the best value option
There aren't any games exclusively on PS5 that I'm keen to play so why buy it just to 'have it', that wouldn't bring me any value? Think about the RRP / usual 8 year life it’s the best value option
Plus, I'll be playing PS4 stuff until there is, so am just extending the life of the PS4, which was also not purchased on release day.
Trying to argue value seems pointless, if you want the latest thing, get it, that's all the justification you need. If you want value, buy the previous gen console when the next one is released. Far cheaper, all games are still available and vastly cheaper, same 8 year life etc.
Naturally if you exclusively play online multiplayer games that wouldn't work :Hehe:

I’m still getting value out of my PS3 - however all the games I have they no longer have any online ability which takes away a huge element of the game / forces you to buy the next gen to be able to do so Plus, I'll be playing PS4 stuff until there is, so am just extending the life of the PS4, which was also not purchased on release day.

I wonder if the folks posting would still agree with the topic title?
I'll definitely get a PS5 but I don't feel the need to have lined up or fought to get one on launch day. I'll wait till you can buy one with a more relatively normal purchase process. Probably be at the start of 21?
It can join the collection of PS2, PS3 slim and Ps4 Pro all hiding behind this monitor.
I definitely want to play Demon's Souls again but the initial launch price is a bit high.

Turtlebeaches are fantastic, I've used them for probably about 10/11 years now. Usually the standard Xbox mics are rubbish in comparison, but I'm not sure what Sony headsets are like. I'll definitely be getting the TB rather than Sonys when I eventually get my PS5.Leicester Loyal said:

Initial PS5 sales will be online only, everywhere. Don't queue outside a store unless you're picking up your pre order https://www.engadget.com/ps5-launch-day-sales-onli...

Does anyone know if I can use my Bose QC35 and the in built mic?
I find my 4 year old turtle beach ok. At £120 they were ok and are useable but I certainly am disadvantage compared to my mates with newer or more expensive headsets in games ilke Warzone
There is no definitive answer, but you may find this useful, it doesn't cover next-gen but I can see the results being similar - https://community.bose.com/t5/Headphones-Archive/Q...I find my 4 year old turtle beach ok. Time to change the thread's title if the controller really is that good!

"Yet it’s the console’s new controller, dubbed DualSense, which best illustrates the benefits of tactility. Like everything else in this new era it’s not cheap - an additional one will set you back a penny or two under £60 - but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.
Bulkier than the DualShock 4 but arguably more comfortable to hold for it, its USP is the myriad motors housed within that combine to create haptic feedback - vibrations capable of expressing such delicately defined movements that at one point my teenage son asked in all seriousness whether there were marbles inside. It’s no exaggeration to say it’s as much a step up from previous generations’ rumble effects as 4K panels are to the cathode ray tube.
The controller’s other headline addition is adaptive triggers, allowing not just for greater fidelity of input and control but also cool force feedback features. Basketball game NBA21K, for example, makes it harder to activate the sprint command with them as individual players tire; Marvel’s Spider-Man spin-off Miles Morales, meanwhile, makes the triggers tingle in time with the star’s Spidey-sense.
Increased immersion is a notoriously tricky concept to sell to consumers - particularly during a pandemic, when hands-on opportunities are constrained - but in this case feeling really is believing. When all of the DualSense’s features (also including a bigger and better touchpad and new built-in microphone) are working in tandem, as on the tailor-made tech showcase Astro’s Playroom pre-installed on every PS5 unit, it’s a wonder to behold. Literally."

Just saw that Digital Foundry are reporting that the PS5 does as good a job on back-compatibility and performance enhancement of PS4 stuff, as the Series X does with older Xbox One titles:
https://youtu.be/bKQ6NeTjccA
... This really changes my opinion on the PS5. Sony's record on back-compat with PS4 was awful (they ignored PS1 and PS2 even though they could easily have done it) ... and with performance enhancement on PS4 Pro was poor (very little enhancement of older PS4 stuff, they even hobbled the PS4 Pro initially when running older titles) . So, combined with Sony really saying little about PS4 compatibility in the past and really pushing upgrading and leaving the old games behind, it put me off PS5.
Now though, definitely thinking about it. I have a large PS4 library which would benefit. If only it wasn't so large and fugly (matter of opinion, but IMO it's fugly).

This is key for me, as someone who hasn't had a Sony console since the PS2, I've missed out on a lot of games, so I'd like to play all the PS4 games in the first 9-12 months of getting the console.https://youtu.be/bKQ6NeTjccA

Unless it auto updates the games im not interested, i want a console for the plug and play aspect, if i have to wait 30mins for a game to update even when is been on standby all week and downloaded the update i might as well spend the money on a gaming pc. GT sport is an arcade game compared to the competition on pc the only appeal is the ease of use but if my limited time is taken up by updates there really is no point of a console for my use.
