I'm guessing you can't access game subscription services such as xbox live on stadia? I much prefer the Microsoft free game list.
Anybody know about xCloud? Is it out now? Last time I had Xbox live it wasn't available.
No you can't and yes the streaming service for Xbox via Xbox GamePass Ultimate is out now.Anybody know about xCloud? Is it out now? Last time I had Xbox live it wasn't available.
Having tried Stadia on various devices phones, laptop, TV, and ChromeCast Ultra I always got the impression for whatever reason the games streamed via ChromeCast just looked 'better' on the TV than any other device, however the ChromeCast played badly with my TalkTalk Router and only worked well with ethernet. Today I managed to setup a cheapo Mesh WiFi setup for the house and the data stream does suggest the the ChromeCast pulls far more data than my laptop when streaming at the same 1080p resolution for the same game (F1 2020).
With the ChromeCast ultra running on the mesh network, it was consistently over 35Mbps pulled with occasions hitting nearly 50Mbps.
With my laptop peak was under 30Mbps, with average figures of around 20-25Mbps. I than checked the WiFi speed on the laptop to make sure that wasn't a bottleneck, and it wasn't, with speeds of over 60Mbps on my mesh setup.
So Google may say Stadia works at 10Mbps, but if even if you don't want 4K/5.1 surround sound, with a Chromecast you need well over 30Mbps to have an enjoyable experience, which might explain why Stadia doesn't work well for some people. And Stadia work very well with a mesh Wifi seup, even a cheapo one (£110 for 3 nodes) .

They're not going to publish their own games on the platform. The platform remains unaffected.Doofus said:

If the platform was a success, you'd think Google would be lining up their own devs ready to rake in the big bucks, except they're not.
That's just what they did, but you can't create an AAA title overnight, and for whatever reason, they aren't prepared to wait any longer.Stevil said:

Dear or dear.Having exclusive AAA titles is key to getting the heavy gamers over, as they are quite happy buying consoles and pcs.
Without, they are targeting gangzoom like people, who own old laptops.
There is a reason why Netflix is spending Billions on original content.
Google accountants are in charge, and not convinced by the Stadia business plan. The article quotes google saying it wants to resell the platform to other video game companies who may want to gave a streaming services., which is a surprise.
Unless they pay companies for exclusive titles, looks like game over.

That isn't quite what it says, but they have proven, leading edge streaming tech, and they need take up. They don't need exclusive titles, but they do need a sizeable user population.Unless they pay companies for exclusive titles, looks like game over.
"Looks like game over" sounds like premature gloating to me.

Google primary money maker is advertisement. Selling stadia cheap meant that somewhere along the line, they would serve ads somehow."Looks like game over" sounds like premature gloating to me.
Reselling the platform indicates plan b, make revenue from Google Cloud services.
As article says, the head of stadia that they poached from EA has quit.
You have to throw serious money at it, to take on Microsoft and Sony's platforms. Google never commit if things don't go well immediately.

I'm still really enjoying Stadia, finally managed to complete 1 season of F1 2020, and about done with FarCry 5 which I picked up for £1.50.
If Stadia does stop I will have got more than my share of gaming time - Still got Assassin's Creed to start which I got for £15 and Cyberpunk to complete.
The technology is amazing, it runs beautifully with no hardware on the user end, but the backend hardware costs to Google must be massive. Cannot see my self getting another console, but apparently XboX live runs on my smart phone? Haven't tried it yet though as 4K OLED panel running games looks too lovely
