Trying it out today , first game I've had to fiddle with the monitor settings to make it look half decent , looks almost unfinished in some places, wonder if that's because it needs the next generation of console to run it properly??

Even the graphics on Dirt 5 on the next gen consoles looks a little underwhelming from the footage I have seen on YouTube.
Dirt Rally 2.0 on the current hardware however looks great so I don't quite understand the drop in quality.

Nope. Swore never to touch another codies game after the dirt 2 debacle.

Released half finished and what you got in Dirt 1, you had to buy as dlc in dirt 2.

Considering picking it up, but is it like Dirt 4 (with different handling modes and lots of extras) or Dirt 2.0 (barebones and ridiculously difficult)?

It's like Dirt 4, much much less of a simulator and just out and out fun, more arcadey, which is good if you just want a game to dive (drive?) Into

I've heard some reports that it is very mediocre, light on content and mostly being a Horizon style bash-em-up without the open world. Codemasters have really milked the franchise dry and splitting the best part off as a separate rally title did it no favours.

Where is the best deal to get Xbox Series X Dirt 5, and are you getting the standard or Amplified edition (inc season pass)?

I returned my copy, the game would go to the initial race and then just freeze on the countdown (Xbox)

Graphics did look quite poor I though, almost as if they were low resolution.

Won’t be rebuying it.

Its just a rehash of their games and cars, flowery, cheap trash that will sell on consoles, no wheel support in 2020 FFS on PC, how basic and cheap do you want to make it.

Very poor and they look they are being sold soon.

Dirt Rally 2 was a disgrace in terms of their policy and I will not pay good money for their stuff again, they lost me that day.

Nothing but complaints on Codemasters social media pages, looking like a hard pass.

It's such a shame there aren't any decent modern rally games.

I picked it up this evening and stuck the Xbox controller in to the PC. It’s definitely no simulator but enjoying it nonetheless. The selection of cars is quite nice too.

A real shame reading these comments as Codemasters used to make great racing games back in the day, I especially enjoyed GRID. Looks like I'll be giving this one a miss too.

Just installed it via Game Pass. Don't know about anyone else, but first thing I had to do was crank the HDR right down so I don't need sunglasses to play it.

No, but I will be. biggrin Cheers for the heads-up it's on Game Pass.

It must have been a clanger given it only came out in November. If Grid gets added to Game Pass I'll be over the moon.

Installed today on Game Pass, really enjoying it.
Good old fashioned Dirt Rally game. Handling is just how I like it with all assists off.
Remember Dirt is the arcade "fun" rally game, Rally 2.0 is the hard sim type racing.

Really enjoying it too. Great fun and nice selection of cars you don't always see in other games.

Have to skip through the cringe from those American Commentators though.

Pray tell, how do you win in the Sprint races? I took an hour at it the other night, got to the mandatory race in the first group and the AI kicked my head in.

I was wondering this too, but looking around online shows this mode is completely broken and almost impossible to win. Just as well you only have to complete it to progress.

I still can't get the colour balance right on this either with HDR. Some track look fine, some completely washed out and ones like the quarry are blinding when you drive into the sunlight.
