I am in the midst of preparing for a full race weekend at Brands at the moment so it is very unlikely I will be online tonight for any length of time.

With regard to races it doesn't really make an awful lot of different as to which you get. What you want to do is make sure you have high intellectual statss as these allow you to gain skills faster. Complex skills at the highest level can take literally months (real time) to learn even with a moderately high set of stats but a few points in the right place can mean the difference between one month or two!

What you learn to do and the skills you pick up are only vaguely affected by race - you just get a head start in a few of the native variations.

Cheers for that info Jimbro. Looks like i'm going all out for intellectual stats to start with then.

Probably see you out there in the universe next week or sometime. Good luck with the racing!

Cool! Hope you enjoy it

Whereas I, having been diagnosed with RSI, won't be enjoying any gaming for a while

Quick update,

After finally getting WoW up and running i had my first few hours playing last night.

What can i say? Im hooked!! Its unbelivable how expansive the game is and there seems to be 100's of routes to take through the game.

My question to any WoW players is which way did you progress? Is it a good idea to just keep progressing through quests or more one to one combat?

Cheers!

I've just got back into WoW, quests are the best way to progress to start with, should be plenty of other people around doing the same quests who you can join up with and you'll probably find that you'll find another person or two and spend the rest of the evening running around questing with them, Quests also enable you to keep getting better equipment as opposed to just 'grinding' your way through packs of enemies to level up.

I'm on Dragonblight PvE, PvP is all well and good until you want to go questing in an area where there are both horde and alliance, then you just get killed non stop.

I play EQ2 and love it, have seen WoW, my sister loves it but I could not get past the more cartoony graphics but does sound great. Anyway on you quote, whilst this is available in EQ2 as well, it is amazing how adictive grinding is?? strange how just getting that one level higher is so enthralling

Grinding has it's uses, but it put me off Star Wars Galaxies eventually and it's probably why i stopped playing WoW for 3 months, i've decided now to just enjoy the game and forget the constant need to level up, the questing helps there as you get lots of high level kit, get to explore the world and meet some interesting (and bizarre) folk.
