Diablo 2: Resurrected
Discussion
They're doing a remastered Diablo 2 for PC and consoles .
The PC version will be 4k, if I'm reading it right, the console versions won't be. Understandable for Switch, the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X should be able to do 4k, but no 4k for consoles because reasons. It's still the isometric view, but everything looks shinier.

Um. I just put in 3 hours today of the original D2.
I've been playing a fair bit of hardcore D2 trying to see how far I can get before I get killed. The best I've managed is level 30 and the 5th part. Have only been experimenting with the necromancer with a clay golem.
Edit: the graphics in the video definitely look improved. It's like my eyes have been cleaned.

Mmm .. On pc and consoles with cross progression... What does that mean compatible cloud save if you buy both versions ?
Edit ... I remember playing one to death but cant remember playing 2 !! One released in 1997 !! How can that be !! ??
Yes, progression is saved by account across platforms but requires a separate purchase on each system. I doubt that many will make use of it but it's a nice feature. Edit ... I remember playing one to death but cant remember playing 2 !! One released in 1997 !! How can that be !! ??

I have never played Diablo but I remember seeing it in shops when it was out on PC and PS1 (remember when you could go to game shops and they had those PC games in the big, glossy cardboard boxes?). I wish I had played it back then as ARPG's are my favourite games these days and I loved Diablo 2. Undoubtedly though, D2 is the game that people look back on for a reason.
I have also played a huge amount of D3 and Path of Exile. I have no doubt that PoE will maintain it's place as the king of the genre (it has that same ultra-hardcore appeal that D2 first fostered). All the same, it's nice to see Diablo finally making a bit of a comeback as Blizzard remember what made them a success in the first place!
