I have a set of Play bars behind the monitor, I originally put them in just to give some backlighting and to be able to work with the other hue stuff. The I watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I73VIQvR_qY&t=... and thought I guess I can have a minor version of that and it actually really does make a difference.

Will try to grab a picture later on.

I started with a 386SX-25. I say started, previously I'd been through Speccy 16, 48, Commodore 64, Amiga, but PC was something more involved. I knew a couple of people who banged on about the Atari but pretty much ignored that. Sod your MIDI port.

I could write an autoexec.bat and config.sys which would leave me about 604kb base memory. The CD-ROM that came later made things more difficult but I was running games that required 4MB on a 2MB machine :-) The 40MB HDD was a bit annoying, constantly deleting and reinstalling stuff.

I recently threw out a load of old parts and the build quality on things like a Soundblaster 2 were great. Now we all just use on-board or nVidia sound and it's just as good or better. It even switches automatically when you plug headphones in or start VR.

I recall needing about 4 expansion slots just to get the basics up and running. Now I think I use 1 for the graphics card. More concerned about USB ports, 8 is ok but I think the rear ones are lacking power.
