I priced up a new gaming PC admittedly a very ballsy spec to last. At 4 grand.... I'll get an xbox and start building a garden office with the change so I have a safe place to play it!
I used to be a PC gamer many moons ago and it is an expensive hobby. I'm in my 50's now and just don't play games nearly as much as I used to and would rather spend on other hobbies. I have a new Xbox X that I got a week ago and I'm impressed enough with it. I also have a PS5 which is great. I much prefer consoles these days and the cost of having both leading consoles is still a fraction of a high-end PC and they are perfect for the casual gamer.
Looking forward to this game!
The main point for me was that I already had a PC that I used frequently alongside an Xbox / PS4.. So rather than having a console for gaming and a half decent PC for work, uni and other stuff, I just built a high end PC that can do everything. So it depends what other uses you might find for it, bear in mind a high spec gaming PC can also do things like 3D modelling, video editing etc.
Maybe no DLSS then after I've just bought my shiny new 4070 to play it
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest knowing Bethesda if it doesn't I'll properly throw my dummy out of the pram and cancel my Ultimate Gamepass.
#### you Todd and #### you AMD .....
I know feel much better with that off my chest

It's annoying because Skyrim can be played on so many different consoles and device and you can pretty do anything to it in terms of mods..
This is their next big flagship and they started by limiting it to Microsoft, and now they're limiting hardware settings..
I'm certainty not bothered about them limiting it to X-Box and PC after all they now own Bethesda !!This is their next big flagship and they started by limiting it to Microsoft, and now they're limiting hardware settings..
Seems that Sony is allowed to have as many exclusives as they want but as soon as a popular title is an X-Box exclusive everyone is up in arms !

I'm trying to think of what big game Sony has that started off cross platform? Any ideas? Seems that Sony is allowed to have as many exclusives as they want but as soon as a popular title is an X-Box exclusive everyone is up in arms !

No but over the years I can remember loads that I would have loved to play on Xbox or PC of course in an ideal world there would be no exclusives but I think Microsoft is doing the right thing if you cant bean 'em join 'em .....

Well, if you've got a substantial stake in Microsoft, I can see why you might hold that view. Exclusives are rubbish for the consumer. Microsoft has had its fair share of decent titles over the years but has allowed them all to become stale and failed to produce anything fresh. Lets just hope Starfield delivers

Agreed hopefully they have started to turn things round.I'm coming round to the idea of pre-ordering this as a long term Fallout and Oblivion/Skyrim fan. I dodged the bullet of Fallout 76 and I hope they have learnt a lesson from that. But I guess with Microsoft behind them the days of crap rip-off merchandise is in the past.
They can sell some good stuff I have a really nice Brotherhood of Steel watch in my collection which is real quality item.
Having also bought an new Xbox X just for Age of Empires it would be nice to have a good immersive game for it.
Does anyone think it could be a damp squib?

As excited as I'm becoming for this, I'm definitely playing the patient gamer this time...
I've got a boat load of uni work incoming between September and November and I don't think I'd have the self control to balance this game and my assignments
So I'll probably wait a couple of months for the initial bugs and issues to be patched out, then just plough through it over winter / Christmas.

With Elder Scrolls VI not expected until 2028 (at the earliest) and no Fallout 5 until after that this game will be the expected time sink and with Microsoft delaying it's launch for almost a year should be less of the car crash launch of previous games. It's said to have more play hours than any previous Bethesda game too.
