Likewise!

It's 1m points down the mountain, over 4 miles. I'm consistently about 40k short, not happy. hehe

What car do you use? I got up to 800k on my first go using a 300SX on drift Tyre’s with 420 bhp, going to try again tonight

I've had the best results so far with the 1995 #34 Supra (one of the "drift" class ones). 14k points to go now. hehe

ETA: Finally completed it, after god knows how many goes. Probably about 300k in upgrades all in, but that 65k super wheelspin as a reward made it all worth while. rofl

I've been playing FH5 for over a year, normally for a few hours a week.
I have not done one drift event of any description.
A class road racing in my completely inappropriate A class racers is my favourite. Bentley Turbo R being the current car.
Still find it great fun.

I got the 1 million drift score for this weeks playlist first go, but only just but about 70k points. Was about 50k off my PB in my A800 RWD Wuling.

Agree with the last few posters. More isn't always better in my opinion. I like FH1 as I was able to learn the map, it had some good twisty sections and round town races, loved the road up the mountain. Even the biggest race was short enough you could learn it and have fun trying different cars on it, optimising your driving.

Found with the recent versions there is just too much for me to learn as a more casual player. I recognise certain spots but cant even navigate between them without the nav.
I hate trailblazer style events.
FH4 was good with the setting, though still a bit big and bland. Really peed me off because I got all excited seeing the map prior to release with Uffington White Horse on it. It is my local go to area for driving, the roads are fantastic and often used by PH and Top Gear for reviews. Was probably the biggest reason I bought the game. The Horse itself, whole landscape and the roads in the game couldnt be much further removed from reality if they were underwater. Which is a bit of a pisser when other places replicated in the game are done so well. I can pick out my mates old shop in Ambleside for instance, even the Mrs recognises it from visiting.

FH5 addressed a few of my issues, there are a lot more fun roads, tighter twistier rather than 200mph sweepers, but yes they are spread out a bit so faff getting between them or fast travel which isnt fun either. And there is just soo much to do that it all just feels like a grind compared to the first one. I think I gave up with 5 with the lowest % completion of all 5 titles, despite buying a Series X just for it.
I loved FH1, the map was perfect in my view, I could even remember the longest sprint races by heart bank when I used to play. Didn't bother with FH2, tried FH3 but never finished it. Got FH4 got bored of the story etc pretty quickly, the only thing that kept me playing for a long time was the weekly pistonheads time trial challenge. As soon as that stopped I stopped playing which is pretty telling I guess!

I never really clicked with the game and still go back to play FH4 and the expansion pack.

Was it just me or did the handling characteristics change for most of the cars in FH5?

It was also just more of the same, mix up the car list ever so slightly but looking at Audi, Merc, BMW - all the same older model cars. No real major updates for me on that front. It would be good if they threw in a few curveball models from scratch or took user suggestions to make certain cars if they could get the licenses for.

Handling definitely changed from 4 to 5. Struggles to drive anything but neat and clean in 4, things were a bit snappy, in 5 I can drift till I’m bored.

Some Playground staff including creative director Mike Brown have left Playground to start Maverick Games, a new games studio working in their own driving game for console and PC https://www.eurogamer.net/forza-horizon-5-creative...

What would we want from a FH rival then?
I’d quite fancy it set somewhere northern, Iceland, Norway, Finland. Maybe tone down the festival side of things

Are the Forza Motorsport games all 'festivaly' as well?

I predict a Ken Block / Hoonigan-themed festival week for next month. rolleyes

The motorsport series is pretty straight laced, just about the racing.

They have already done Hoonigan pack etc

I've gone back to FM7 recently, I couldn't get on with it while I was playing FH because everything felt a bit wonky. I think partially because the motorsport games are more optimised for steering wheel and partially because everything feels heavier and less forgiving.

Really enjoying it now though. It'd be cool if they did a driver based campaign in future but apart from that I'm really looking forward to the reboot.

Yeah there's more than enough Hoonigan cars already but Hoonigan week/month I mean, like there is a Ford theme for this week's challenges. This is week 1/4 for this month, and all the challenges for the next 3 weeks of the month can be viewed (all be it greyed out), so I'm predicting it for next month.

Apparently it's a Japan season next.

Focus on actual racing, especially in lower or mid powered cars, as opposed to playing dress up, emotes and characters who all act like they're on coke.
