More news on order invite emails:

- All people who are in the Q1 reservation window on the Steam Deck store page will receive an order email by the end of March. (Q1 is Quarter 1, or January through March).
- The first batch of emails has already gone out this morning.
- The next batch of emails will go out on Monday, March 7th. (It turns out the logistics work out better if we don’t try to ship over a weekend.)
- We’ll continue sending emails to Q1 reservers in the order their reservations were made on a weekly basis through the end of March (March 14th, 21st, 28th)
- In April, we’ll start going through the Q2 queue in a similar fashion.

They all make a comment about only 2 hours battery life if played at high FPS though.

I wondered when someone would make a stonger reference to the failed gaming steam pc previously as a failed release. Also good to see Gabe talking about its future and expansion capabilities too.
Other than battery life (which was clear just looking at the specs of capacity vs power consumption) very good reviews. Should make a decent 'second PC' too.
That said, AMD will be coming out with Zen3 based chips with >4 cores (Steam Deck uses 4x Zen2 cores) and integrated RDNA2 graphics (which is what Steam Deck uses) shortly .. so will be interesting to see what the laptop options are.
I'm hoping for a small form factor laptop (13" screen and thin) aimed at gaming on the go. That way you get a decent laptop and something that can do decent gaming. It would be great to have the choice.

Slight difference as the steam machines were not made by Valve - made to a spec (provided by valve) by third party system integrators. Nice little mini-pcs but just a tad expensive to get a decent spec. Not ONE of them asks him to count to three...

First customer units arriving in Europe according to the subreddit.
Some already observing joystick drift, fortunately Steam input lets you calibrate and adjust deadzones so in theory it's easy to "fix"

Yep I meant to post the video of Gabe being delivery man yesterday but work stuff got in the way. https://youtu.be/9Dy-KWjp-m0

It's a nice gesture, but very staged, it's so obvious it's all previously arranged as nearly all of them open the front door already wearibg a bloody face nappy!
I think that wound me up more than anything else!
It was a breath of fresh air to see the lads who were moving house stood around smiling without any masks, and what Lucky sobs to be there at the same time whilst Gabe was handing out free steam decks too!
How come I never get lucky like that?

Stick drift OS fix pushed already which is nice.
Hopefully the scalping will be limited time only with Valve saying production should be in the hundreds of thousands per month by April.
As a foolishly late preorderer I really hope that's the case.
On the subreddit I've already seen a post of someone playing Elite Dangerous so that's me even more lathered in anticipation.

Hopefully that means there's literally hundreds of thousands of preorders rather than they're struggling to ramp up production at all.
