Any further info on the car list?

It's starting off with 400+ cars but would really like to know what's available in the used car garage (pre 2001 cars)

No updates. There’s a car list here of every car that’s been spotted https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-7/#car-list

I have a pre-order for this, quite excited.

Wonder how many seemingly identical Imprezas and Skylines with different model names there'll be this time...

I think the list is a little bit out of date. The Peugeot 205 T16 E2 hasn't been added to the list.

Haven't watched it yet, but if the tuning is finally getting a bit more in-depth with engine / drivetrain swaps that will be a vast improvement and definitely something I'm excited about.

It was something that made the Forza games a lot of fun, your car choice wasn't limited to just those that came as rear wheel drive originally as you could 'fix' whatever car you wanted and make it fun! hehe
I suspect being GT they will decide what engines you get to swap.
Yeah and I'm inclined to expect it wouldn't be as 'fun' with the options as Forza.

Probably most likely there'll be a few 'special' cars that have an engine swap already done and there won't be any option to do it yourself, which is a shame.

Hopefully tons, I miss that from the old games - perfect one for me was GT2 which has a token bunch of European stuff but still tons of the JDM ones biggrin

Watching the State of Play video now. Sounds like atmospheric conditions will affect the performance of the internal combustion engine. That’s cool.

Thousands and thousands and thousands.

I haven’t played GT in a very long time and don’t have a PS5 (or even a PS4 for that matter) but this might sway me…

I think it'd be interesting if they did have a sort of 'live' used car pricing. Not that there's a finite supply of digital cars, but to perhaps just look at the relative popularity of used models players purchase, and then inflate the prices of the popular ones over time and deflate the less popular...

Could be quite nice, would work well as another part of car culture to include too, the car flipper, buy a car when it's unpopular, then perhaps wait until a weekly event comes out that it's needed for, price goes up and then can be sold on hehe

Could also mean it would encourage players to pick less popular / more unusual cars when starting out as they'll be cheaper scratchchin

I always thought it would be excellent if users could sell their own modded cars to others

They have a trading system in Rocket League, can't see PD going that route though, I think gifting a car used to be a thing so maybe that'll return, GT7 looks good..not sure about the music thing though.

There's been a lot of people poopooing this feature, but I think it's great. It's just a fix for an existing balancing issue that's been dressed up as "realism"

Those JDM classics could be tuned to oblivion, and were cheap.

I’m led to believe that Asian vs European car pricing is different.

It did seem to say that the pricing will be updated daily too, which I think is a good thing, the game feels more alive with things like this going on, and it helps give the cars a bit more of a history, if Skylines were selling for 150,000 credits and you picked yours up for 70,000 it'd at least be part of what makes it yours and part of its 'story' etc.

I'm a glutton for punishment and thing an optionally much harder mode in terms of earning cars / credits would be much more enjoyable, when I first got Gran Turismo as a kid, I loved my Impreza that I'd saved up to buy, and I agonised over every mod as I tried to earn more money to competitive etc.

When you can have a fleet of 30 cars within a couple of hours of play time it takes away some of the magic for me, there's no feeling of investment in the different cars.

Agreed. I used to start a new game and struggle to win the first couple of races needed to afford a decent upgrade, once I did though (or achieve 3 2nd place finishes), that upgrade would give me an advantage over the other cars and allow me to start earning properly. It felt like a struggle but was so rewarding. Now, on Forza, I load up the game and I'm being thrown 5 different cars and a reel prize spin because of my achievements on their previous games.
