Has anyone got an engine swap recently? I still haven't got one.

For something so requested to be locked behind roulette is crazy. I don't care if they made them ludicrously expensive to buy (multiple millions for the R26B - not sure how much it is to renew the engine for the 787B without checking) just make it happen!
Nope. Never. And it's really pi55ing me off. I see them on the roulette wheel occasionally, but it's just there to tease me.
Yeah, so I'm now well over 400 hours, not got one. You could play this game for a full year, and if you're a bit unlucky, never get one. That is ludicrous.

I've had one engine swap and that was the K20 from the new Type R. Have had 3 news in the last few days, the Genesis G70, one of the American custom card and the Toyota Crown safety car. Only had one 4 star roulette card though, haven't seen a 5 or 6 star one for a couple of weeks at least

It was probably 3 weeks ago but I won the LT1-Corvette engine. I haven't put it into the MX-5 yet but it should be interesting to say the least.

I have an engine, but I can't remember what it's for - it was certainly a car I didn't own at the time. Not sure where I would find out either?

I think if you go to your garage one of the six areas you can look at at the bottom (where it says change car etc) is parts, in there it should tell you

(I think, it's where it shows other won parts and what they're for anyway)

Given the amount of detail in modelling of the cars Polyphony have done, it would've been very cute to have taken some engine bay and engine dimensions, and used that to inform whether a swap was possible.

Leave it up to players to decide what they want to put into what. I mean, much like real life, you'd have ended up with LS engines in everything as they're so compact, but it's hardly a bad thing that the 'simulator' would end up reflecting real life...

Part of Chevrolet, Ford etc. Brand Central could be a parts catalog where you could get new crate engines, that'd be great. Or I suppose you could just pull the engine out of one of the cars you own to add to the pool hehe

I was hoping they would do this and I imagine down the line more engines and swap opportunitys will be added. It would be nice if you could alter the drivetrain of cars too but I doubt we will see that.

Don't change anything else, just chuck the engine in. It's a handful.

Went for one of the big ones. Must have for me because of what it is and its history in the game. Handles really sweetly, thought it might be a bit twitchy. Was good in previous games though. Sounds brilliant too.

Just ran it on the Le Mans race to get 800k back!

Will go for the 250 GT next.

Can’t ever see unlimited engine swaps happening, manufacturers licensing their cars to the game would never allow an engine from a different one to be fitted

I see what you're saying, but there are already some cases of that happening. Here's the current known list - as an aside, is the BRZ drift car engine in the Silvia Q's new, because I can't recall seeing that before and that is mad!

I've done it 3 times Merc gtr LM McLaren gtr and Zonda r might see if I can do it in my twin turbo gto that's at 700pp might be good being 4wd in the rain. It's also good that rains different every time you try it.

I’ve got an excellent tune for the 787B for Spa that I made, only needs one fuel stop and even with 3 tyre changes you can lap 2nd

I don't know, Forza has had all the engine swaps you can eat for a few versions, and drivetrain changes (convert to RWD, 4WD etc.)

One thing that has been nice is seeing the AI cars with modifications on, it surprised me how much that added to the game.

That is interesting, only tried once and as it was not raining much opted for racing tyres at my pit. (Because at Le Man you tend to be able to get away with slicks when it rains!) Then went out and did a lot of dancing (as did everyone else, yellow flag city) so I boxed for full wets and managed to regain the lead. Does it always rain hard enough to require full wets ? (Or at least inters?) Just thinking next time I race it I am going to box when it starts to rain this time, see if I can win by more than a lap..

Oh I am using one of my Lambo VGTs.. May have to try in some other cars, I have the McLaren F1 car now... But loathe to put miles on her......

Yea rain has changed a few times for me once I used inters and only had rain levels under the top line next time was full on went and was aquaplaning down the straights. Also rains twice though in my experience once in the night around lap 10-12 then about lap 20 for a few laps then dries out at the end.
