I did do the first race of the Gr1 menu (where you don't have to use a Gr1 car confused) and I didn't realise tyre wear and fuel usage were on so I messed it up a bit and didn't win. Will revisit tomorrow as that will take care of mileage too. Funny thing is I would have won were it not for my 3sec pit exit penalty!

I used the Nissan R92 with the bigger turbocharger and it was a monster.

As an aside I notice that changing your gear ratios has NO effect on PP. Guessing this is the rather blunt approach to stop the Tomahawk glitch?

Just got to menu book 37 (dirt rallies) and it's awful. Rally just does not belong in this game if no care is going to go into it. It's the same with one of the early missions, just get dumped into the most powerful rally cars with zero experience in dirt racing in GT7. The only dirt racing before this is pickup trucks, bit of a performance gap. The jumps are a dice roll if you will come out of it pointing in the same direction.

Is the general consensus among players on PH that GT7 is decent? I’m loving it. Played it 90 hours now all offline. I think it’s great.

But fk me, the complaining on reddit about this. Seems like a bunch of children that want it all and want it now without any challenge at all. People say it’s “utterly broken” and “incomplete”. They’re all majorly pissed off that they can’t get 825000 credits in 15 mins with the Tomahawk glitch as it was patched out yesterday.

I am quite enjoying it a few hours a night 2 or 3 nights a week.
GT Planet forum is quite good for info on best strategies to use for endurance racing. Only downside is the amount of threads similar to Reddit complaining about everything.

Had my PS5 for about 2 months now and solely played GT7 (mostly offline). Currently I have 0 people on my friends list, so it would be good to add a few of you to see where I stack up on the leaderboards etc. Might try to get involved in a few online races that are posted on the other thread too (if time permits).

If people could add my PSN tag (T3LLIOTT_), that would be great. biggrin

The Real Driving Simulator my hairy arse !
From my perspective as a race driver IRL, purely in driving and handling realism I'd say it is the best I've ever played! The way that cars break traction, slide, roll/pitch and move around underneath you, and the way that slides can be caught with a dab of oppo is fantastic. So many other games (looking at you AC!) spear you off sideways or start a tank slapper when you try to add opposite lock on a controller but GT have managed to absolutely nail it.

And straight from news on the GT7 site......................

Regarding Steering Wheel Controller Force Feedback

We confirmed an issue where certain steering wheel controller and vehicle combinations would cause excessively strong force feedback vibrations which could result in injury, and so we greatly reduced the force feedback/torque as a temporary emergency measure on those specific steering wheels.*

However, this is only a temporary solution and we are working to improve performance and implement more suitable force feedback sensitivity for each controller through a future update.

Adjusted steering wheel controllers:

Thrustmaster T-GT
FANATEC Podium
FANATEC GT DD Pro

Hogwash ! In other words you've fked it up and now running around like headless chickens trying to fix it !

I have fun, it's a fun game (when the AI isn't dirty as fk), but when there is an annoyance, it seems like such the worst oversight by a company that should really know better, and it's hard to believe they OK'd it. I don't get to play too often, so I haven't sped through the single player like some have and still have a LOT to do. You're simplifying down a lot of different complaints to the credit issue which a lot of people are okay with now.

When people complain about the lack of events for example, bear in mind that there was a pre-release showcase by someone who wasn't sony and it had a LOT more events, which were excluded from final release for some unknown reason. Below is a screenshot from the video

Online play, just FWIW, is genuinely in a horrible state.

I hadn't bothered picking up a copy until a week ago, but really enjoying it so far. Not even bothered hooking up the G29/playseat to it yet, the tilt controls on the Dualsense are really good in their own right.

Had a go at the Suzuka time trial and managed to get into the 58’s which puts me 240th currently, plenty of room for improvement though.

Not sure I’ll bother doing any of the Nations/Manufacturers cups until they sort things out properly, just too unpredictable.

Nice time what car did you go for after seems a huge mix of cars in the top 20 times. I'm going to give the first rd a go see if it actually works tried last season and just wouldn't load for me so gave up after 10 mins wait. Toyota one looks a right mess ATM.

Haven't done the Tomahawk thing for ages, so not bothered by the nerf. Been doing all my credit earnings at Le Man's, have noticed since the update, the rain is not only getting heavier, but the detail in it bouncing off the track is bloody awesome

Still wasting far too many hours on liveries though smilesmile

I like the new weather map - the scales make more sense at 50 miles etc instead of 48/96 or whatever it was before. Looks more detailed too? Also felt like it took a lot longer to get to the track once it appeared on the map, but I might be wrong on both those counts.

There's also a nice new feature in that if your doing a custom race you can change the settings when you're in the race menu, instead of choosing the settings then entering the race, which is nice. I quite often take a newly fully tuned car to a race round Route X just to see what it will do and noticed it then

Some of the new scapes backgrounds - the after rain ones in particular - are pretty cool too

Nice livery!

Yep the weather map is much more user friendly with the more sensible scale and it being visible as a slider on the side, and not looping around. The other one was always strangely disorientating with the weird zoom levels and the fact the track was always basically invisible.

Did a Le Mans run last night and the rain skipped across the top of the circuit and never actually rained, ran the same set of hards for the whole race.

Have been using the Mitubishi GTO with a 100% success rate so far, my Le Mans tune on it had jumped up to 704PP, possibly just to do with the gearing now having no impact though.

Need to get back into GT7.

Put it down after completing the licences and getting about 25 menus complete, but it just began to feel a bit same old same old.

Having dirt events annoyed me, still haven't managed to get gold on one of the licence tests on dirt, and must have spent many hours trying.

How do you get the international licences? It is grey on my system.

I am with you on the rally, I have done the basic ones but with a controller it is quite awful in the main..... I will await a steering wheel before trying those again...
