New update incoming and it's looks awful. Two VGT cars and the Suzki Jimny (which I actually don't mind). No new tracks so it's hardly a surprise this one is rubbish given they probably feel they've done this job with the last big update.
This is the only game I play when I switch it on so maybe that's my fault but I'm a little bit bored of this same old, same old now. Have zero interest in the VGT concept cars.
There's so many more tracks out there that could be added from previous versions and I'm not quite sure why they're so short coming with them.

Just played through the Jimny races, it's fun to drive. Had to add a few light power upgrades to be competitive as it couldn't keep up too well standard.
The Genesis VGT time trial is challenging. It's very fast but the brakes are as wooden as the MC20's and it loves to spin out. Will need to watch some guides for this one!

Managed to get one clean lap after spinning/overshooting 100 times, good enough for silver so will leave it there and quite happily never drive it again!!Finally managed to get to end credits on this game by getting 3rd in the world series race. The game is on professional or whatever the hardest setting is.
I like using non-racing cars and the Ferrari 458 is fast, but obviously lacks acceleration and braking power compared to the GT cars.
I won a Pagani Zonda which seemed very fast in stock form, but to my surprise I was lapping a good 2-3 seconds slower than the 458 on the Nurbergring Nordschleife. Power mods take it up to 1000hp and my first clean lap admittedly beat my 458 record, but I do like that 458.
I'll keep going with this game to unlock the ultimate mods, I can only manage about an hour per gaming session nowadays before getting bored but GT7 is an excellent game.

Back next week it seems https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt7/news/00_822146...
My own personal thought on this game now is how old a lot of the cars are. The GT3 cars especially feel outdated now. It seemed to peak with the 650S which was released in 2015. I don't really understand why they haven't updated to things like the 720S or the 296 GT3 cars. It feels like they've just carried across the models from GT Sport and not done the work.
I love the cars in the legends collection but they need a few more race options using those cars if you ask me.
And I still hate the roulette of prizes for the daily mileage always ending with the smallest cash shown.

Finally sold my PS4 earlier this year. I found I was playing GT7 for the roulette 30 mins a day as a routine.
GT7 is an excellent technical game (I have played most of the series with exception of 4 and 6), but in my view there are many flaws
Roulette is fixed
Prices of the cars compared with prize money too high
Too many variations of the same cars
VGT
Some excellent tracks not used in events, so example Sarthe no chicane. In GTS they had the classic event there (with the P4, Ford Mark 4 etc)
On the plus side, Sarthe (with chicane) 30 mins (700PP) is a lot of fun, especially when it rains!

Just thought I'd pop in a little nugget of information... The DriveHub now works with the Logitech G Pro wheel and allows you to use say a TH8A shifter alongside the wheel in GT7 (also in WRC)
Clutch works properly (not the broken neutral-switch way it works without an H-pattern shifter), there's even a gear grind noise if you get the clutch up too early or try to flat shift it.

Very very late to the party but decided I'm going to pick up a copy this weekend.
Thinking back I cant remember why I decided against getting the game at launch as I was never off GT sport and I've had every GT game from release prior to this.
Peaked at A - S DR on GT sport so I hope I can still be as competitive on GT7.
Interesting reading the comments about using the PS5 controller as a wheel using the motion sensors, might give that a try as I've absolutely no intention of buying a wheel. I've gotten used to using the sticks and have to admit I've always been an auto transmission driver too.

Took me a little while to get the hang of tilting the wheel, but it does work really well for me. I use the thumb stick for gear changes.Thinking back I cant remember why I decided against getting the game at launch as I was never off GT sport and I've had every GT game from release prior to this.

GT7 now has enough content to make it well worth buying. As others have said, start with the licenses and menus, otherwise you'll be grinding to make enough money to buy decent cars.
