Sound is a vast improvement as has been said, probably far mroe realistic than we realise given how used to aftermarket exhausts and Forza videos we are etc.

Also the presence of the sound from the other cars seems to work much better.

Forza does have excellent sounds though, at least in terms of excitement, the cars sound more exciting, but GT will never go that way, it'll always be sterile accuracy at all costs, but at least it's improved!

Shame they messed with the final 2 corners of Deep Forest, they were a challenge every lap to get right at speed.

Is it just me, but when playing from the in car view, I find the steering wheel's movement (or lack thereof) really off putting? Not so much the stupid 90* of lock, which although annoying I can deal with, but the way it doesn't return to centre quick enough, so you get the car pulling straight but the wheel is still rotated? It does this on GT Sport too and really puts me off.

It's independent of the handling, just they've presumably got some smoothing of the wheel movement going on to try to make it look less gamey presumably, just find it really annoying, especially when making quick little oversteer corrections and the wheel just doesn't match the car movement...

I am looking forward to this and very tempted to get one of these too https://gtddpro.fanatec.com/

However after a lot of Project Cars on the PC with Track IR I am not sure I can get used to racing again with a fixed field of view, being able to glance at your mirrors or follow the apex is really handy. Wonder if it'll have VR support with the new headset.

Deciding what preorder to get. Is 1.5mil credits worth the extra £20?

Some of the more exclusive cars showed a price tag of 91million in the Bristol Motors classic place in the trailer... I've pre-ordered laugh

I decided against it purely as my favourite bit of the traditional GT games is starting with a useless car and gradually modifying and upgrading as you earn more credits. The 1.5mil would mean you could kind of skip that early piece

For me the last couple of games lost their way and it was the lack of the low down budget second hand cars that ruined it for me.

Hopefully it will be more like the early games in that respect.

It's almost time to start destroying the Clubman Cup in a tuned up Mazda Demio again! I'm also one of the many that has pre-ordered the 25th Anniversary addition yet I have no PS5.

Ahh, the good old days.

Does anyone know if 2nd hand cars be available at a lower price? Was it GT4 that did that previously?

Is the 25th anniversary edition available anywhere (Physical, not digital)? Bit late to the pre-order party, wondering if they will get more in stock at all or if I'm better just going for the standard one.

GT4 certainly did used cars the best, the availability in the used car section would change weekly (7 in game days), and there were 100 weeks worth of options!

Some cars would only be available to buy in 1 of those 100 cycles, making them very rare indeed and meant that checking the used car list could always hold a surprise and something new even after you get to the money doesn't matter stage.

Agreed with above that the most fun part of GT is starting out with a st box, then deciding on whether to keep tuning that up or save up for something a bit more decent to really tune etc. Pre-ordering and starting off with 1,500,000 credits or some selection of ridiculous bonus cars would somewhat take that fun experience away for me.

One thing that I think works well and should be considered for perhaps a set of racing series is budget restrictions. This makes the used cars much more worthwhile looking in to, and also means that even once you have loads of money, you still need to pick and choose your modifications to get bang for buck, and not just instantly max everything etc.

There was a thread or two on GTPlanet many, many years ago with GT4 whereby you had the 'real life challenge', they'd set say a 20,000 credit limit and we all competed to buy and modify the quickest 1/4mile car, split into FWD, AWD and RWD categories.

You would scour the used car lists for something cheap with some power or low weight etc. you'd work out which mods you could squeak in under the budget and then do the 0-400m test and if you got a high ranking time post a picture up as proof. Naturally it required some honesty of what mods you bought etc. but the prices are all pretty verifiable and anyone could just get the same car, same mods and see how it performed.

A friend and I managed to top the board for a bit with an Impreza, it turned out adding weight ballast and shifting it all rearwards helped the launch enough to make up for any performance loss, and launching in 2nd gear helped get it off the line quicker hehe

Yes 2nd hand cars will be in a used car dealership. I think all the previous iterations of Gran Turismo had this (GT Sport being an exception).

Looks impressive visually, however from a physics standpoint the cars seem oddly still, almost suspended.

Having driven the Daytona circuit at some length for iRacing's 'Roar Before the 24 event', it seems from the movement of the cars and the steering wheel of the camera car that most of these bumps from iRacing's laser-scanned version of the track are absent...

Looking back at the old versions, did anybody spend hours/days just completing the license challenges before even having a race? I did as I figured it would make me better in the game plus the challenges would come with cars and money as rewards. I cant remember what GT version it was but I remember a license test using a Le Mans car for 1 full lap around Monaco. It was the hardest challenge I remember doing and it took me hours of constant restarts as I knew if I didn't hit a corner right I wouldn't complete the lapped time challenge. Even now after spending so much time completing that challenge I am very good at Monaco on other games like F1.

Also the endurance races. Modding an RUF and using the option where the computer races for you, you just switched the TV off and left the PlayStation running.

I really hope that GT7 goes back to the days where playing single player was rewarding.

It does look like they are going back to how they used to be with license tests, used cars and tuning shops etc. GT7 will have another used car dealership called Brighton Antiques where they only stock classic and prestigious cars but these will cost a pretty penny.
