Realised I had missed something at Caria Manor and had the ability to use it now, so popped back smile

I'm also spending too much time chest storing because I end up overweight. So gone back to lighter Royal Remains armour for it's anti-poison properties. Other than boosting strength and endurance stats is there something else non-stat I'm missing as it doesn't take much to go over.

Endurance should be the only stat that will increase your equip load (may well be talismans and the like out there to do it too), but you shouldn't need to store everything in the chest as it's only your equipped gear that counts towards the weight, not all the other tat in your bag. Double check you've not got three swords equipped or something like that, but you do pay a heavy price for the heavy armour, so need to sink plenty of points into endurance if you want to use it effectively, unless you're happy fat rolling everywhere.

Stevil is spot on. Check you don't have multiple weapons or shields, including bows and so on, equipped. I tend to run pretty crap armour as I dont like to run anything beyond Medium in total weight. Keeps movement rapid enough.

For info I haven't put anything in storage and am level 93 and 53 hours in. So you can carry the entire world with you, but just dont have it equipped in any of the three slots for each of your left and right arm.

I'm about 14 hours in myself, just bested Godrick, though I'm playing a spellsword. It's fantastic and one of those games I find myself thinking of when I'm not playing, deciding what I'm going to do next.

Unlike the likes of Horizon: Forbidden West that I'm also playing through, this feels like each location and secret has been hand placed with care and there's a genuine reward for searching the environments thoroughly, whereas in Horizon all the placements could have been generated by an algorithm.

I can certainly understand the comparisons to Breath of the Wild in that respect and I can already see it being lauded as one of the games of the generation.
As someone who is enjoying HFW I think you're bang on with that criticism. I find myself lusting after Elden Ring, hearing about people playing it.

HFW is very algorithmic and in story terms isn't as weighty as I was hoping it would be. I think I've been spoiled by the likes of Ghost of Tsushima where the's actually transformational character development. I imagine Elden Ring takes that further and rewards you for as much effort as you're willing to put in.

I must admit also I found it amusing that one of the HFW UX designers (and several others) were moaning about Elden Ring's Metacritic scores being so high, when it has such a shonky UX (a UX that I'm sure is comforting to any Souls aficionado). If the story and immersion is decent I'd rather a shonky UX than a painting by numbers one you often see in other games, where everything is spoon fed to you.

In the case of HFW specifically I'd go as far as to say that the hand holding intrusion is a bit excessive, as the main character in that game tells you "maybe I should check XYZ" within about 5 seconds of entering any room with a puzzle in. Elden Ring sounds like a breath of fresh air in that regard.

Now they’ve fixed the arcane scaling, rivers of blood is hilarious. Just spamming bleed on pvp, can see that getting nerfed soon.

Thanks for above. Granted I was using heavy armour anyway, and will sort out carry weights but I'll put a bit more into endurance too.

FYI. Elden Ring now appears on GeForce Experience so you can see if you have all the settings you need. I never use it to optimise my games as it keeps trying to push 4k on my 1440p monitor but it sometimes shows up graphic settings that don't appear in the game menu like Reflex, but Elden Ring seems to be covered.

This was also recorded before they “fixed” it, by making it more powerful.

I can't even begin to count the number of times I fell to my death trying to jump down these steps by foot or by horse.

Sometimes it's the seemingly simple things that kill, well for me that is.

60 hours in. Level 99. Found a scarlett rot single handed sword. Having fun with that. The rot, when inflicted, just keeps eating away at their health bar relentlessly. When not using that weapon, I have Axe if Godrick.

Impressed by the sheer scale of the game. It is quite mind blowing really.

Nice - did you speak to the guy at the round table hold? He mentioned something about an enemy that was a mariner.

I bumped into the boss you are talking about but having gone west and north first, I bumped into your boss when I was already quite a high level so it wasn't too hard a fight for me.

How was it for you?

The exploration and feeling of making your own choices for next location to head to and what character build/weapon choice to go for are amazing. Im 66 hours in and level 108. When you get to a location called Leyndell Royal Capital , it blows me away how detailed and multi layered that place is. Many hours of exploring and a whole host of boss fights. The original Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3 had some impressive locations and castles but these locations are just the next level IMO.

Dodge towards her, not away. For the most part you want to be dodging towards her, there’s also a spell she casts that you need to roll into, not away from or it will roll catch you, and just ignore the summons. You can poison her too for free damage while you’re spacing the summons.

On another note I can’t believe they nerfed Radahn frown
