It did thanks, but then when I go back my icons are tiny (even though it's at 1440p) the only way to get it back was to then set the displays to Duplicate and then CTRL mouse wheel. If I tried display only 1 I couldn't get rid of the big gap between the bottom desktop shortcuts and the taskbar and also my mouse went off the right side of the screen. Duplicate option fixes both.
Can you not change the "scaling" to help with the resolution and tiny icon issue?anonymous said:

I've got both sorted in terms of scaling the only issue now is the mouse pointer going off screen to whatever side I have the 2nd display (TV) placed in display settings. Did you fix that or is that just a feature required for dual monitor use?Ps. Elden Ring is epic in 4k.
So realistic.
Keeping it to extend keeps the icons/screen scaling normal, then change to Display 2 for gaming then back to extend when finished is what I'm finding works. Oh and set sound to the TV if I'm not using my headset.
Fixed the mouse issue. Moved the monitor and TV diagonally to each other As long as I don't go down to the right corner and enter the Twilight Zone.

Yes it's 1440p, it's an old screenshot. I set the TV desktop to 1440p but game settings are still set to 4k. I know this works because I have just been running Cyberpunk at my 75fps 1440p settings at 4k and it's dropped to 40fps. But that was just a test as I won't play it in 4k.
But having both desktops set to 1440p removes the icon vomit every time I swap or the huge icons on the TV, I have a lot of desktop icons.
I had both set at their native resolution but I get HUGE icons on the TV, I change them to be normal and when I go back to the monitor they are tiny so I have to make them big again. I don't need the TV desktop to be 4k, just any game I play on it and I can set the 4k in game.

Gives about 150k per run (with Gold Scarab talisman) in my experience. Jumping up the cliff can be a bit annoying, but the video shows how to do it.
Not sure how I feel about this. It doesn't really affect PvP since you're matched by level anyway, to be honest I was just using it to try and get a few more levels in Vigor without respeccing, so I can finish the game.

With a bit more time this evening I think I've got it sorted. 4k set on the TV and 1440p on the monitor without icon size and layout problems. I need to set both up on the Nvidia Control panel to what I want them to be first, which I didn't do.But having both desktops set to 1440p removes the icon vomit every time I swap or the huge icons on the TV, I have a lot of desktop icons.

Having Graces everywhere helps a lot, I think. You can spend a LOT of time in other Souls games retracing your steps after you've been killed, just to pick up your lost runes/souls.
That is still the case in dungeons in Elden Ring, to an extent, but those Stakes of Marika help, and if the dungeon is big enough there is usually more than one Site of Grace. I also feel like there aren't as many obnoxious traps or troll moments in them as well, which helps.
Elden Ring definitely feels like the most accessible Souls game, to the extent that I'm puzzled as to why people were complaining about it needing an "easy mode". There's plenty of other stuff you can do if you get stuck somewhere, which is definitely not the case with Souls games generally - i.e. if you get stuck on something you either "git gud", get help, or you basically stop playing.

Or run, or ride the horse fast past enemies and continue on they don't chase you far or stealth, hiding in the bushes until they pass or as I did here.
Can't remember the location name but it's the screenshot below. I sneaked around to the left, then in right behind him, he's close up to the steps into the castle so I get very close to it, it never saw me, never activated and in I went.

i think because it doesnt explain anything, like how scaling works or as i can tell even that you need a staff for sorcery but an amulet for incantations. it doesnt even explain how to level up. i spent about 10 hours wandering killing things but not leveling up. maybe i missed subtle hints i dunno That is still the case in dungeons in Elden Ring, to an extent, but those Stakes of Marika help, and if the dungeon is big enough there is usually more than one Site of Grace. then there is the fact you can have easy to kill monsters next to ones that seem almost impossible some of that is there hp's are huge the other they are immune to certain attacks but how are you supposed to know that!
one of my biggest annoyances apart from the fact there is almost 0 story is the fact it queues commands so you can be spamming glint pebble then want to refill you manna but you cant as its till trying to cast so they just stand there waggling your staff a bit rather than drinking the potion. some of the cast times are too long. the enemy's have the weird ability to get you through walls in volcano manor there is one of those people catcher things out on a balcony im stood down a hallway its cythe weapon came through the side of the corridor diagonally shouldnt have been possible but hey. im now level 150 ish but i can get taken down by like 3 rats
oh and the fact as i have said a few times before there are no quest helpers so its sheer luck if you figure something out most of the time.
also what gets me to get to that place where you can jump off the map and the bird you can kill you it seems you can only get there by playing on line as you need to invade 3 peoples worlds but im playing offline so erm yeah i cant (i mean i went online to do that but it shouldnt have that requirement)
i think im playing it still pretty much because there isnt anything else i want to do
