Managed to consistently get my lap times to 1'58'5 and a best of 1'58 dead. Sticking with the Lister although the Lambo and Saleen are possibilities.

Should be a good race then. I'm equally quick(?) at around 157/8 in the Saleen or the 550, difference is with the 550 i'm pointing backwards far too often, so I'll be in the Saleen tonight.

Bloody hell Ian, you saved 20secs over my 2nd stop by not changing tyres and there was me following you thinking, he's going to pit, he's going to pit......last 4 laps....he's not going to pit put your foot down.

The pressure told on the Maranello's big end though, I'm still coughing.

I knew there was no way I could possibly beat you on race pace, so I went for a clever (but risky) strategy. Unfortunately Italy's finest wasn't so fine this evening. I was hoping my smoke screen might have given me a clear run for the line

Good win by the way, you were by far the class of the field tonight.

Thanks. Since I've started practicing and qualifying on my race setup, fuel & tyres. I've been more consistant in the race, although my tyres still go off before I'm due to pit.

I decided to do it mainly because I always get jumped by the traction control users at the start so never get away first or second anyway.

Would be good if everyone was free for the last race of the current season next week at Donington.

Brno results

But it really doesn't tell the story of what was a top race too well.

Hi guys,

Missed lastnights race - didn't leave work until late.

Sounds like a good race.

I shall be at donington though.

Jesus, talk about choking on lap 3 - what a fall from grace:

My sponsors will not be happy , but at least I stuck it on pole again.

Clearly my pace is up there, but my consistency is not. I seemed to fry my tyres really quickly, they only lasted 10mins, so backed off on the second set and strung them out for 30 mins.

Then tried to go faster on the final set of tyres only to fry them with 2 laps to go, and it was like I was on ice, which cost me 4th overall.

I guess my style is just too ragged... Not sure what to do about that, might try racing on hard slicks.

It's the sliding that kills the tyres - you can use soft tyres for 20 or 30 minutes I find as long as you take the trouble not to scrub the fronts with too much understeer, get too much oversteer (normally by lifting off on corner entry), try not to slide the car and also don't lock the wheels or spin the rears out of slow corners.

Trouble is if I'm carefult to keep it really neat and tidy I'm also about 2 or 3 seconds a lap slower...
