Well that went ok few issues with servers but got in at the end thanks everyone for making it some good racing too which is always good.

We did chat later on as a few were late getting in about doing same race same limits so people can fine tune set ups if anyone is online during evenings set up a lobby for some practice even get tips on set up etc. We do a big main practice Wednesday night before Thursday.
But yea roll on the next week races.

Would it not be easier to just all run the same car on fixed settings?
We were talking about that maybe for another week. I know that with some being late in with little practice we going to run same event next week but with more practice so hopefully it be a bit closer. For reference 2nd 3rd and 4th were running 2.14-2.16 per lap but I found out I was down on power as I focused on big brakes etc. For anyone in the chat if people want to get together for a evening test more than welcome to set up a lobby.

I will do one Wednesday night for anyone wanting to join before Thursday. I did try a new civic type r which can be made to work but it is heavier than the integra. May be another car out there that may work better.

Managed to get my Polo down to a 2.12.3, might be a high 2.11 in there but it would need to be a perfect lap.

Going to try find something else as I only used the Polo because everything else I had was too light!
If you can do those very low 2.12s you'll be competitive in the race.
Tbf I couldn't shake him in the last race a mistake on my part and he would have been through. Hopefully with everyone getting some practice in will be very close up front for next week.
Think I'm going to play around with the new civic type r see what I can do with that.

Bit annoyed I made a mistake on the last lap but even so I wouldn't have got through, had no speed on the straight!

I think there's a lot of mileage in the cars like the new Civic, they maybe don't have the laptime but they seem a bit more stable than the Integra.
I was the same was down on power went for cornering and brakes which was a bit over kill. I got a 2.12 in the new civic so certainly good pace and it is super stable even though it is heavy. Be interesting too see if people stick with the integra or old civic and try something different.

I'm now at 2:13.880 in my 263BHP Integra (within the rules of the last race) definitely a bit of time to make up due to my average driving skills.

...down to 2:09.794 now, think I've found my settings for next Thursday!

Bloody hell that's a quick lap there fair play to you think I better get some practice in.

I'm not going to be spending hundreds of thousands tuning loads of cars to try out.
Tbh the civic or integra seem to be the quickest cars but depending on how far you completed single player you have a large collection of cars that have been won. Try a few out standard see what you feel most comfortable and quickest and work on that one. I'm sure you be able to race someone at similar lap times as there should be even more drivers next week. I will do a stock race one week though to try out.
I did see we be all getting 1million credits due to issues with the game and the credit amounts in each race is being altered too.

Problem is my consistency, can get a 'quick' one in then I'm all over the shop on the next lap!

Definitely think we need to look at a hot lap time trial challenge alongside any online group races. Perhaps a new track/car type/PP level that changes every two weeks or something? Obviously needs a bit of trust that folk are honest about there times unless there's a way to view lap records?

I'm down with that if someone wants to set something up we could do the out lap with stock cars then it's down too driver talent.

How about this for a Hot Lap Champ event:

wiki said:
PH Hot Laps: Sunday 27th March to Saturday 9th April 10pm

First try for this Hot Lap Championship, you have two weeks at a track to put a best time down in a set car/PP/etc.

Top 5 will receive points, P1 5pts, P2, 4pts, P3 3pts, P4, 2pts, P5 1pt.

Winner of each event will get to pick the next event and rules (but remember to make sure any car chosen is easily available and affordable!).

First Season will run for five events. Best way to try your attempt is via World Circuits then Time Trial.

Tsukuba Circuit @ 18:30 - Honda S660 ‘15 - Stock
I've put it into the pinned Wiki: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Obviously a starter that we can adjust before tomorrow!

Edited by ApexCult on Saturday 26th March 07:46
Will give this a go later on after I try and win the last cafe menu race at the ring.

I've got a very low 17, almost 1.16. Don't think I've much more to give tho.
Car goes quite well compared to GT Sport ! For a change ! I always found it a bh to drive. But now on CS's it goes quite well on GT7.
I only did 5 laps optimal lap was 1.17.3 so just got to string a lap together.

Is the S660 available in used cars? I don't have one so would need to buy.

Was thinking for a stock race in a week or two all get Radicals or X Bows (maybe even BAC Monos). Should be good fun and the first two are less than 150k so not mega bucks and cars we'd probably all eventually want anyway. We've all had 1m boost too of course.
S660 is 19k in the Honda Brand Central!
I would be up for doing a radical race was looking at the car earlier today haven't really looked too much in the new car market.

20 more laps time down to 1.17.391 optimal is .319 not much more left too come I don't think.

Chris, if you need anything for running a champ let me know I still have access to all the data sheets and tables I used to run the old GT5/6 champs.
Thanks darkdice that would be much appreciated. We just doing single one of events trialing out what works or what doesn't then will set a championship up then. But yea that would be a great help.

So for everyone else or indeed new players we decided we going to do the same race again now people have had more practice time.

So event trial mountain this Thursday practice starts from around 7.30 till 8.15pm I'm going to mix things up slightly so first race will be a shorter 8 lap race. Then make a 2nd lobby (as gt7 doesn't allow multiple races on same lobby) with a longer 15 lap race however it will involve tyre wear and fuel consumption.
To further mix things up race 2 will be random grid and reverse track.
If the lobby work first time should be done well before 10pm.
Regs the same so 525pp 2wd race hard Min weight 1200kg if you want too run more that's fine just can't be under 1200kg.
Will do a practice lobby Wednesday night as well share ideas also if anyone needs any help with improve car or race line we will be more than happy too help. Group chat be open so connect headphones enter the chat and free too talk.

Look forward too seeing you all wednesday and Thursday.,

Is it really two weeks per event?
It's only for this one as a few were late getting ready and had little practice. Next week we do a same car event thinking may be fun to have grid full of karts around a tight track. We get ideas going Thursday.

Sorry, I meant the time trial element.

Oh got you yea think it's up for 2 weeks. It is worth joining on Wednesday evening practice get some useful tips on tunning and can follow others on track see where your car/lines compare to others. I was helping a fellow driver yesterday just on following and trying different lines out dropped 2s a lap.
