One symptom of connection issues appears to be what looks like puffs of smoke and sparks from other cars (sometimes with the car moving randomly and sometimes not). They don't appear on replays.

Andy, I can only apologise for my connection again. I might revert back to an old router to see if that helps.

I spent the final race on Daytona working out Track Limits at the chicane by way of 0.5 second penalties on most laps and trying to avoid getting within a car length of anyone else for fear of a random bump, though looking at the replay the first couple of corners were "bumpy".
No sweat Ferry. PSN can be like that sometimes.
2nd race at Daytona I think I was 'collected' and knocked into you. Was a good race after that though.
Forgot to save replay for 2nd race.

Thanks guys for tonight the races seemed a lot closer than previous weekends me and Andy had a great fight in race one with only a slight mistake from him gaining me first but ended up finishing within a tenth at the line.
2nd race being the route X was fun was a weird crash maybe connection issues at the back but Andy times the run to the line perfect to grab the win. 3rd race back at Daytona after the chaos of the first section seemed to come good with various people taking the lead at some point righteous though managed to do the least mistakes and most consistent to take the 3rd race win while me norbs Andy and ferry battling back from offs or mistakes but we all finished within 5s of each other and given a few more laps would have been even closer.

Did a rough calculation on points and Andy ended up first norbs 2nd and me third so Andy your pick for car and track next week.

Looking more general for me the race format seemed to work the best out of the previous week's so will stick with it if everyone is happy same with rules. Might just tweak the number of laps higher in 3rd race but apart from that for me at least seemed to work fine if everyone else is happy with it.

Talking to norbs after the race discussed a few things, think after a few more weeks once we got race format nailed and everyone is happy we do a championship just as a trial say 5 weekends using the same car for all races that way everyone can get comftable with one car over the time period rather than each week being a new car and maybe that way bring field even closer but that's just a suggestion for the future.

Also had a new player join so thanks for taking part and the returning drivers for sticking with it as I've said before any ideas or suggestions people have happy to listen and work to make the racing as good as it can be.
Good 1st race Chris, but my mistake at the hairpin/entry to the fast loop cost me a win. I think that's the only mistake I made the whole race, but you were putting me under a bit of pressure !
2nd race was a bit less concentrated - as it seemed a lot of people were - there were a few more mistakes. On the exit from the bus stop on the final lap I got a bit of a wiggle on, which gave Norbs time pip me to the post.
Good nights racing anyway.

For next week: Car - BMW M3 '03. Cheap enough in Brands Central if you don't already have it. As per this week, no tuning/no aero. Race Hards.
Track - Nurburgring GP circuit.
If you want to do the mid-evening fun-thrash-race, might want a smaller bowl than Xroute.

Yea that first race was really good tbf there was times I could have gone for a move but would have been risky late braking attempt and these car don't really do well with late braking. That mistake at hairpin did give me the chance otherwise you would have won that race I recon 2nf Daytona race was a bit more hectic/crashy on the first lap but soon settled down and was close between top few drivers. Few different leaders as well early on.

Will update info for next week as for the fun middle race could do the small oval or maybe do the odd sort of oval track over in Japan can't remember the name of it. Don't mind doing either tbf.

Yea was tbf race 3 was a bit messy at the start but soon settled down and was a good 4-5 way fight for the win think at some point all of us lead at some stage.

I'm going to do a gr3 race Sunday night similar format to last week was thinking high speed ring and I'm sure wet weather is available for that track too. So if anyone is interested in some longer Sunday night race let me know be around 7.30pm race start 8.15 or so.

I really need to figure out my connection. Watching the replay the cars were flickering.

Light damage definitely helped there in Race 3. Heavy damage would have killed half the field. After race 2 I was so paranoid about getting close to people I was content running a safe distance away! And I'm fked if I could work out track limits on the bus stop. I need to spend some time on that for future reference.

Was there some sort of safety car action to bunch the field up in Race 2?

ETA. Ironically my connection dropped out whilst typing this. TalkTalk may not be the best solution.

Yea we seen the crash and did slow down on the straight was just about to put a message on game chat but seen you had pulled into the pits. Track limits on that chicane was weird I would do the same line back to back and once be fine 2nd time get a pen also several times outbraked myself thought I get a pen but nothing. Yea with connections and the bumps heavy damage just ends of with a huge field spread so will stick with light damage going forward.

Yeah that bus stop exit was weird. No idea where the pen limit was.
There's also the invisible wall on the left, on the entry to turn1. Think I saw Norbs hit that.

After the race 2 crash I thought it was game over but heading on down the straight I saw the time distance reducing. I thought boost must've been on, but no, the chaps were waiting. I managed to get on the anchors just in time to prevent another pile up.
Thanks for waiting ! It gave me a win smile

As an aside how are we feeling about the Hot Laps Championship?

I did have one idea that may interest folk (or not):

For each calendar month, four tracks and car combinations are selected so you have the whole month to set times. Then points for each event are given as currently set. Each Championship lasts a quarter.

Thoughts? Any other suggestions? We still have two events left on this current Championship, and we can of course continue as we currently are!

For potential gr3 race tomorrow I won't be back till 8.30pm so if anyone wants to start a lobby for practice and set race say for 8.30 and I will join in then. I won't be able to do one next Sunday as I'm watching Al Murray in Cardiff.

Prefer the simplicity of one a week or fortnight with a monthly or quarterly "championship" season.

I would be up for a race tonight but wouldn't be surprised if not many appeared for it as the F1 is lights out at 8:30 tonight too.

Anyone wants to do that gr3 race this week before our regular Thursday night league race or do a gr2 race if people have any gr2 cars.
