I got d/c'd and couldn't get back in.

Norbs' DC2 was massively faster than the one I took out of my garage and threw tyres/turbo/ballast/restrictor on to.
We were discussing this after. Power was everything not sure in general or just that circuit.

Also to note we discovered no difference in PP between carbon and sport brakes.

Great fun, thank you all.

Interesting chat at the end regarding what others used. Seems that sports parts are better so you leave extra room for performance to get to the circa 230 BHP needed.

Yeah cheers all. Last minute attendee so had to jump straight in and was soberingly off the pace!! I would definitely like to stick to the same parameters next week as a good gauge of progress.

Think I’ll set my weekend wheel/seat combo up a day early as I was way off with the pad.

I did zero testing and started off with the E30 M3, just because it was 1200kg. Put some tyres on it and a restrictor. That was about 5 seconds a lap off the pace.

Switched to the Integra and chucked a turbo on it with ballast and a restrictor to get 525PP and was a bit quicker but still nowhere near in terms of basic pace in the car. I need to spend more time understanding PP vs components and setup tuning.

One issue with this is the number of credits you have to invest to buy for parts to test, when credits are so hard to come by with how the game is set up at present - hopefully a short term thing. Just buying tyres for these 2 cars was a gold circuit experience worth of credits.

I was doing OK'ish for pace in the DC2, but not getting near enough to Norbs.
Consistency during the race tho was another matter. Had a terrible start, with a big crash. But then settled down to some steady laps and a bit of progress.
Think I need some fine tuning, as well as the car.

Now that Norbs' setup secret is out I'd like to think things will be a little closer next week wink

If we're going for a re-run on the same race as last night for next week could you possible post what upgrades you installed on your Integra?

Its all about the bhp. You want as much of it as possible. On this track BHP is king over good brakes/suspension.

That was my problem then, I went for brakes and handling.

Power makes sense, that big uphill straight was a struggle.

Tried to join last night at 8:22, but I don't pay for the online bit, and hadn't paired any headset so gave up. Will join next time.

What was the fastest lap last night? I want to see how bad I am in comparison hehe

In the Race, Norbs was deep into the 2.12s and had a couple (I think) in the 2.11s.

Off the top of my head, it was sports suspension, sports ecu, sports filter, sports exhaust, sports clutch/flywheel, fully custom diff, sports brake pads, bore up and camshafts. My livery had a splitter and a wing so I fiddled those stats to get me to 525pp. Added ballast to get to 1200kg but didn't mess around with it's location. My car had 227bhp.

Noddie has tuned his to over 230bhp and is now quicker than me.

I have done a 2:10 once and Noddie has done a few now. 2:11 is more the usual time for a good lap for me.

Is it not cheaper to bung a turbo on it and use the restrictor to drop the power back?

Does the turbo performance/pp ratio differ to the NA route?

Questions, questions, questions.......

Were you adding as much power as possible above PP525 then using the power restrictor to bring you back in to the PP525 target, or just getting just to around the PP525 point?

The rest of us were around 2:14 (at least I was) so you don't have to be alien fast to join.

Would it not be easier to just all run the same car on fixed settings?

Me and escrobin were around the 2:17 so well off the pace in our Civics, but we had our own mini race at the back so fun at all levels

We were talking about that maybe for another week. I know that with some being late in with little practice we going to run same event next week but with more practice so hopefully it be a bit closer. For reference 2nd 3rd and 4th were running 2.14-2.16 per lap but I found out I was down on power as I focused on big brakes etc. For anyone in the chat if people want to get together for a evening test more than welcome to set up a lobby.

I will do one Wednesday night for anyone wanting to join before Thursday. I did try a new civic type r which can be made to work but it is heavier than the integra. May be another car out there that may work better.
