I think I'm now at the stage with DCS where I need to think about a proper mounting system for my desk I'm finding it uncomfortable for prolonged flying sessions with the standard base with my arm digging into the desk.

I'm using a Thrustmaster Warthog with the standard A10 stick and my newly acquired F18 stick.

Whatever I go for it will have to clamp to the desk.

I've seen tray like systems that you just put the whole throttle / joystick on so they are on your left and right but I think I would prefer to have the stick between my legs so to speak !

I know the Viper has it on the right but the majority of stuff has the more traditional position.

Anyone have any recommendations ?

www.monster.tech stuff is very good, though it is fairly easy to knock-up a home made equivalent with a bit of timber. Especially if you are a VR user and don't have to look at it.

Thanks just had a quick look at that but time limited i'm at work biggrin They look excellent. I suppose you can just move the short version so its central or would you have to buy the long version with an extender ?

I do have a Rift S but mainly fly using a Delanclip.

There is some height adjustment on them, and most will cope with an extension. I use a 10cm for a centre mount Hornet grip which I think feels about right in terms of stick deflection. Anything bigger and you might want to look at the long version.

Sounds good to me where did you get your ( coughs ) extension from ? Did you order the mounts direct from Monster ?

eBay for the extension, and yes, ordered direct from MT. Ships from the EU though so there is duty to pay on top of the quoted prices.

A second from me for MT - have the longer mount for my TM Warthog using a 75mm stick extension (got one from Virpil - don’t know if they still do them). 75mm seemed just right as it didn’t need any springs changing in the base - just about perfect for me for flying close formation and heli flying. The MonsterTech kit is very well made and totally solid - it will outlast everything else you have.
BB

Ps All welcome on the MVP servers and Korea52 - we are running reasonably regular MP events of all sorts.

The Aerobatics MVP servers are all free flight - non combat, with a network of more than 50 back-country airfields for warbirds/ helis / yaks…Discord links are in the multiplayer listing. All welcome !

I priced up a custom extruded setup through an extruded AL supplier, and to be fair to MonsterTech, there wasn't much in the price difference. Not sure what their margins are but I certainly don't think they are unreasonable in their pricing.

But yes, certainly easy enough to source the materials yourself if you are that way inclined, or have a particular requirement which MT do not cater for.
