Looking to get my first games console for many years -I'm 42 now but reverting back to childhood!!!

So...PS2 or New Xbox when it comes out? And what's the best (most realistic) driving game at present or due soon?

Can, Worms....surely not!!!

If you're willing to wait for a new Xbox 360, Project Gotham 3 will probably be your best bet.

Oh yes!!!!! Downloaded a video of this from the new consold thread and it looks stunning.

The hardware of the Xbox 360 and PS3 may be pretty similar but I really think that MS have got the online portion very well sorted.

The Playstation 2 can be picked up for around £100 whereas the XBOX 360 is likely to be at least £300 at release but will obviously be technically superior. Oh and PGR3 looks great.

I cant believe no one has suggested Project Gotham 2 on XBOX yet. Simply the best handling racer so far ever.

Surely you can't compare the x-box 360 to the ps2? the ps3 will be out in the next decade at some point...

xbox 360 is out in November. est price around 300 pound now (they put their prices up from announced 250 pound cos Sony announced the PS3 will be around £450.00!)

PS3 is a more powerfull machine, but wont be here in UK for possibly a year!

But, I hear PS3 is a pain in the ass to program games for, so you will have the usual Sony titles, again I suspect, Ridgracer, metal gear, Tekken etc etc Xbox 360 will have Quake 4!, if you can use a mouse and keyboard for it, quake 4 on Xbox Live will be amazing.

get a PSP, i have most consoles, but dont touch any of them since I got the PSP.

and with the wifi (if you have wifi in your home) i can browse the internet on it in the back garden!

I will get both Xbox360 and PS3 for "market research purposes only" thats my excuse to the missus anyways

xbox 360, they are debating 2 flavours, one with and one without the hard drive, the one without the hard drive is to get a "price point" but will limit the experience.

its just Microsoft's way of saying, "we are putting the price up cos Sony said the PS3 is going to be £450" , £150 more than the £300 they originally stated.

yes they still have the price point but if you want to use it for what they have already hyped it up as, you have to pay the higher price version.

manufacturers have to subsidise the hardware and make their money on the licencing fees for the software.

Sony are loosing a estimated £100 per unit on the PSP.. .. .. . .. .. . . . . . as a example
