Just playing a bit of the campaign. It looks and feels great.

I didn’t play the multiplayer or WZ2 beta but hoping it all holds up.

Played the multiplayer beta and it was ok, but I never get on with the game straight off, takes me ages.

One of life’s small pleasures for me so looking forward to full access.

I agree with the OP, I put a couple of hours into the campaign last night and it's the best CoD campaign in years IMO. I struggled to stop playing! It sees the return of characters like Price, Soap, Ghost etc, loads of guns available to pick up and try from dead enemies and a sense of being in the action from the outset. I've been playing on the 'hardened' (one up from default) difficulty and it feels nicely balanced. I've died a fair few times as it only takes a couple of bullets to kill you, but it makes you play the game with a bit of thought, whereas on the easiest setting you can probably just tank bullets and wonder round doing whatever you want.

I also think it's a great idea to give access to the campaign a week before the multiplayer so you don't have to choose between the two.

Looking forward to the multiplayer. The beta had a few issues, but then that's betas for you.

Doing it this way means that so many more people will actually play the campaign. I ordered a physical copy so I'm resisting watching the streams of it.

Thinking of purchasing this just for the campaign.
However not too sure if I should purchase for PS5 or PC.

My PC runs 3090 but the PS5 is hooked up to a 65” OLED.

Thoughts?

Of the two, I'd run it on the 3090 PC personally. I run it on a 3070 PC and it looks great. Assuming you've got a monitor that can keep up with the power of your GPU, you're going to get better frame rates and so on from the PC than the PS5 IMO. I think Merkmusic was saying in video a few days back that these days CoD games run best on PC, followed by Playstation with XBox last.

Your preferred control method would be an important factor too i would have thought, i.e. keyboard or controller. Granted you can use either on either platform, but best to go native smile

I have it on a the Series X and it looks amazing on my 65" TV. It will pop on a 65" OLED.

I played the MW campaign but did not enjoy the Black Ops campaign and gave up with it. I totally agree it makes sense to launch this first and get people playing it, the various multiplayer items will get people playing it too.

Is warzone map being discontinued? Not fussed in campaign. Game can be had for 45ish so will wait until about 30 quid. Put over 350 hours on CoD 1.

Hook the PC up to the OLED, use a xbox controller/bluetooth USB dongle.

I had to go back to the main menu a couple of times when I first installed it to trigger the early campaign access event.

COD apparently has a save game issue for the campaign at the moment. A known bug. Something about writing to protected folders. Basically it doesnt have permission to save game progress.

Three hours down the toilet. Raging.

I had problems on the PC version via Steam. Figured it out eventually and logged into the Activision website, linked it to my Steam account, then relaunched MW2 and it worked immediately.

If you’re on PC it might be worth a try. It was just timing out every time I tried it until then.

I haven’t played any COD games for a while, but I bought this on Friday.

I’m loving the Campaign mode, and I have to say the graphics look great on PS5 connected to a 55” OLED 4K HDR television.

Finished it this evening. Was decent. Found the Alone mission prompts a bit confusing.

It looks next gen for sure on my series X on a 75" non-oled screen.

Campaign so far is great, about 2 hours in, the ghillie suit section was real heart-in-mouth.

Can’t wait for MP TD, my wife and kids know that they’ll lose me for the next 3 or 4 months. cool

Edit - I got a save bug, fortunately it hasn’t reset my progress, but I’m stuck on a level where there’s no auto saves happening rolleyes

Got the game for PC. Can’t hook up to OLED as my gaming PC is in another room.
Loving it so far, 150fps average maxed out in 27” monitor.
I tried playing on ultra wide but getting motion sickness so reverted to my trusty 2560x1440 ROG gaming monitor.
The campaign is awesome!

Edit: I prefer keyboard and mouse when playing FPS games, so that’s why went PC route. Tempted to see how the game looks like on 65” OLED though so might move the PC to the living room biggrin The LG TV supports up to 120hz I think for gaming.

Picked up MW2 on Friday night for the Xbox S.

Enjoying it so far though I hated the convoy mission ironically as I’m on a car forum.

Hopefully finish campaign this week.

I didn’t mind the convoy mission but didn’t find the mechanics of switching vehicles worked well at all.

I've completed the campaign and am now making my way back through it (On a harder difficulty). I played it on my 4K OLED. Boy is it a very pretty game. Definitely worth another go through on yer 65"er.
