I think VR lends itself better to games where in the game the body is static too, so GT7 and flight sim stuff. When you have games where the movement of a character or such doesn’t represent the body movements you are doing that’s when the brain has a bit of a meltdown and the nausea kicks in.
It also has the effect of limiting what the in game character can 'do' to whatever the sweaty powerfully built company director can do in his lounge without having a heart attack.

Horizon is a good example of this, the battles in 2D are a fast paced acrobatic display across multiple levels, whereas in the VR demo you can slowly move left / right around a fixed circle against one useless enemy, it's barely more involved than Pong.

I only bought it for GT7 though really and couldn't be happier, the other random 'experiences' (they're hardly games) are novel but been there done that with the Oculus tbh. It'd be great if they brought Superhot VR to PSVR2, that worked really well and is obviously hilarious watching your mates contort around the place i slow motion like a cheap Matrix remake hehe

Sent back today had not played it since last Thursday. Might be a purchase again at somepoint if there a significant price drop and a new game that gets me hooked back in.

Have you had your refund yet? They received my headset last Thursday but I haven’t received any emails. They received my headset on the same day and I received the refund for that on Saturday.

No money yet but got email to say they received it and processed refund a few days later. Could take up to 10 days according to them

Agreed. I don't get sick, but most enjoy games without locomotion. Eg sims.

Some room scale is fun though. I'd recommend giving puzzling places a try, and activating the 360 option and walking around the puzzle vs using locomotion aids.

Motion sickness was a big deal when PSVR came out to the extent where Sony discouraged full motion in games (they ditched the Nav controller) but as people get used to VR, it becomes less of a big deal.

Especially as better hardware came out with higher refresh rates - I can feel a bit iffy after more than an hour in PSVR but rarely any issues with Quest/PCVR. That's almost certainly down to PSVR being innately low framerate ... a lot of stuff is 45/60fps then reprojected to 90/120. It looks smooth but causes a lag between movement and response that is too small for most to notice but your sense of balance certainly does notice. Really, you need about 90fps native to be really comfortable.

By all accounts PSVR2 is high framerate and responsive so I'm wondering if its just newcomers to VR that have had the motion sickness issue .. I can't imagine that anyone used to PSVR would have an issue with the newer hardware.

I had motion sickness first few days it can really put you off but since then it’s been fine - I usually play for max 30’mins in a burst as the kids usually won’t let me play longer

GT7 prob most impressive game, and for some fun Pistol Whip is most popular in the house atm

They have now had my PSVR2 for three weeks and still no refund.

Three ‘Chats’ later, starting Thursday last week, they have begun an investigation. I will give it another week before asking for a ‘chargeback’.

Half LIfe:Alyx rumoured to be coming to PSVR2.

Hopefully that is true ... playing through it on PCVR and loving it (had it for ages, just got around to it). A real system seller for VR on the PC and will hopefully boost PSVR2.

Although I don't have a PS5 (happy with my old PS4 Pro) I really want to see it take off as it will raise the 'mass market' spec for devs to target. Currently, almost everything targets Quest 2/PSVR1 level hardware and even if you have a high end PC you typically only get minor enhancements over that.

I agree. I really hope PSVR2 gets a bit of traction, because if Sony can't make VR work I can see other companies being put off. I think if PSVR2 fails then it would set VR back a few years in terms of mass adoption.

I got the email on the 20th saying they’d received mine. The money was returned into my account on the 23rd.

Same I replied to another PSVR thread and it got me thinking! Still at the £500 mark so not really a 'sale' price

I recently picked mine up at £450 for a slightly scuffed box off Currys clearance on eBay (new), I noticed they've currently got a refurb'd one for £340

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_dkr=1&iconV...

There are also a couple at £399, no box, on the AO outlet

Based off past experience, they are both pretty straightforward to return items to if they aren't as expected.

Just be aware that they may have been returned because the mura effect might have been very noticeable - it changes with different headsets it seems.
